If you have a half hour or less between flights at the airport, is that enough time for the baggage handlers to transfer your baggage to a connecting flight?

Minimum connecting times are published by the airline and vary depending upon the facilities at the connecting airport. Your airline can advise you.
Generally 30 minutes is tight for baggage connections. Your flight has to arrive on time and staff have to be immediately available. As one who used to manage lost baggage, the greatest risk is when you connect, especially if it is from one airline to another. Less so if an "online" transfer by the same carrier. I would recommend you carry your bags if possible and if not, allow at least one hour for transfer domestically and 90 minutes internationally.

between 30 and 45 mns.but if you only have a 30 mns connection time it is likely that your luggage won't make it with the same fliht your are taking.they will either lose it and they'll reimburse you or deliver your delayed luggage after to your hotel or your house.
next time have at lest a connection time of at least 45mns to 1 hour.
you might be luccky and get all your luggage in on piece
