I most certainly believe that people are gifted in various ways, and some people have a talent for clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience, and other psychic talents, such as divination, etc.
As no two people are skilled in the same way in "mundane" gifts - math, singing, art, science - no two people with psychic talents will be gifted in the same way. One tarot reader may not have much skill at divining the distant future, but another one may excell at that. People don't realize how many ways in which these gifts manifest themselves. And as no one is infallible in ANY talent, then even the best psychic will not be 100% all the time.
I've had readings from many different psychics over the years, and all of them have had something valuable to offer. Were all of them mindbowingly accurate? No. Were some of them? ABSOLUTELY!
What psychics really offer is perspective - perspective on your current path, and the places that that path may well lead if all trends remain the same. You can then choose to modify your path to give a much higher chance to something positive coming to pass, or else to avoid something undesirable. It can also help offer an idea of a timeline for when things will happen, so that you can plan accordingly.
Why are some psychics so expensive? Well, the prices will vary according to alot of factors. If someone is known to be particularly good, they will likely be more expensive. That's simple supply and demand. The best doctors will often be much more expensive than your general practitioner. Many often make their full-time living from their gift, so they charge accordingly. I find most psychics to be priced comparably to spa treatments actually - so if you're willing to pay $125 for a spa mani/pedi and facial that takes 60 minutes, they paying a similar amount for a reading shouldn't seem so awful. How much does one pay for a personal training session at a gym? Alot usually. But they feel it's worth it to get the motivation necessary to change their life. Same thing with life-coaches, or career motivational coaches. Psychics play alot of the same roles, and so are paid accordingly.
If a psychic is really outside of your price-range, than find another one. A legitimate psychic will never ask you for additional money to "remove a curse" or anything like that. In fact, if you start hearing alot of fear-mongering type predictions, get up and LEAVE. THAT is a scam. Storefront psychics are where you're most likely to find the scam artists...but that doesn't mean that all of those are scams. The absolute best way to find a good psychic is through word-of-mouth referrals. If you don't know anyone who sees psychics, you can ask at the local metaphysical stores.
If the psychic you're seeing has a huge wait list, I imagine they are legit! Likely your session will be recorded so that you won't have to remember everything, you can simply listen to it back. If they psychic doesn't offer to tape it for you, ask if you can bring your own recorder. Still take notes during the session, though. And WRITE ALL YOUR QUESTIONS DOWN before you go into the session.
Hope that helped! Enjoy your session...really good ones are worth every single penny.

Been to see Derek Akorah and Colin fry, what a sweetie.
The audience with Derek was rowdy and i wasn't really sure when i left. Colin on the other hand had an audience which was very quiet and serious. If i had to choose between the two i'd say Colin was the best bet. He had people in tears where as Derek didn't, it felt as though it was more for fun.
I also wonder, if someone is fake and reduces a person in pain to tears, how can they live with that? Are there really such heartless people around? None of us can be really sure about anything.
Several years ago i went to see a lovely little old man who claimed he was a medium. He asked for no money, nothing, and described a few people i knew when i was a child, one of which was a neighbour who had bad fitting shoes and used to drag them along the floor when he walked. This dear old man refused to let me speak. Wouldn't let me ask questions or tell him anything about myself. He just sat there and rhymed everything off. Even knew that my ancestors where spanish gypsies, some of whome died in a caravan fire.
You tell me how someone can know all of this without ever allowing you to speak?

I do believe that there are some real psychics out there with gifts, though not as many as claim to be, and like an artist that paints, the cost of materials is expensive but not $1,000 - $10,000 worth. Everyone needs to make a living, and if they provide food, clothing & shelter for themselves and their family with the income they earn from using their gifts, then who am I to criticize. I can either choose to spend the money or not.

About 2000 years ago it was written in the Bible that one day, horrible things would happen to many people (floods, wars, earthquakes, famine) - the Bible was right.
War: is everywhere,
Famine: Africa (people dying of starvation is almost an accepted norm),
Earthquakes: happen somewhere - on an almost daily Basis
Making predictions is one thing, however, even if the clairvoyant is a total fraud, your belief in the them is enough to affect your decisions, and therefore, you could either make some or all of their predictions come true.

Allen B that's just rude.
Well let me tell you something, don't pay over the odds because they shouldn't be in it for the money. I've been told randomly off someone I knew information that they would never have known for completely free. Whether you choose to believe or not, don't waste hundreds on them or rule your life by them.
You can learn yourself as well. Get down to your local spiritualist church and speak to the board of governors about enhancing your gift. Everyone is supposedly psychic but they have not researched their potential.

I choose not to believe. My mate is a psychic buff and believes anything that these people tell her. It's so annoying, she has had quite a few readings and spends her life waiting for things to happen, just as the psychic has predicted. When nothing comes true, she sort of manipulates things around to make it seem like the predictions have been true all along!

I like going to the $20 psychics because it's fun but I've never met one who was ever 100% bang on.

yes i do, i'm psychic myself and also don't believe in being expensive. Those who do charge are doing so because theyre providing a service and you'd be surprised how much energy and effort that service can take..also psychics have to pay the mortgage just like everyone else.

I'm told "cold reading" is what all psychics, etc use. It's fun to watch and sometimes fun to think someone can predict our futures and tell us what to do when it comes to love or money, but I promise, it's a show that's put on for money. It's not real.
THAT'S why it's so expensive.
Go see them for fun, and have a great time! But please don't put too much stock into it.
