I get something warm to drink and do a relaxation thing.
I start at the top of my head and flex and release all muscles. I do each three times trying to get all of my muscles relaxed. I think of the stress and tension as flowing down my body as I relax more and more muscles.
It only takes a few minutes when you're used to it and you can just feel the pain go away. The trick is to be methodical and not rush it.
Rushing relaxation doesn't work.

Depends on what is causing the tension? We are more of a doer so we’d want to take action to relive what is causing the tension. Confront the daemons head on as it where. If my beef is cause by someone else you better believe they will know what they’re doing to me. And if they don’t change their ways we will not trust them the same way again. There are very few worries that are out of our control, and we just let those sad ones wash over us like rain.

Sit in a hot tub.....& soak or better yet go to a natural hot spring & soak. It is an awesome tension releaser. or some great sex with someone you care about will work too.

I personally close my eyes and think of a place that I would love to be - say at the beach listening to the waves. Or visit a place in your mind when you were very happy - a situation perhaps.

Walk, lift weights, paint a room, pet the cat.
Do things which I have postponed for too long----they are often the reason for the tension.

Talk about it to any family or friends that is willing to listen to me rant and release. Normally my husband gets an ear full of my pent up frustrations 99.9% of the time.

A lot depends on where I am, but I either have sex, get a massage, exercise or take a hot bubble bath.
