This is more a culture question than one for the Immigration section.
Every nation has poverty. I think the history and traditions of India are interesting and poverty is not the image of India that I have. I see fascinating colorful architecture, temples, Hindu Gods, amazing food, ancient customs and traditions and a growing nation - I do see severe poverty and a lack of interest from those of the elite class in India to the plight of those who are impoverished but I see that in other nations as well including here in the US.
The US culture and traditions are a mix of many cultures and traditions. Every American is looking for a better life also and we have poverty here as well, just like every other nation in the world.

India and the USA are at totally different ends of the spectrum.
My sister went to India and some of my cousins did for a long visit. They said it was interesting but since they are Americans they came home.
It seems to me that there are only two classes of people in India, rich or very poor.It would be hard for me to see such poverty and not feel like I should do something about it. What that would be I can't say but I know it wouldn't be the place for me. Good luck.

In America we do have culture and ritual. However, its quite different. Our population is a population of numerous cultures so we have so many different cultures, holidays, beliefs, etc. The land of the Free. Many Americans such as myself value culture, spirituality, and heritage. I will say that Inda seems to have a more centralized and dominant culture. Where as in the US we have many.
I love living in America. Despite the on going war and some of the politicians, laws, and unjustice in the court system, I don't see myself ever leaving. I enjoy many freedoms here and adjusting to stricter circumstance would be difficult for me.

I can't even imagine how you picked these 2 countries and why you posted this question on the US site. Indians are like all the others - they are just here for the payola.
