French Corral is miles of old placer mines the small town has about 70 poeple in it and there are areas where you can use your dectector. I doubt that you will have much luck here. This was an area that was used for Hydraulic mining. Huge amounts of water at high pressure were used to clear the land. Most of the top soil and creek bed areas have been thourouly scraped clean of even the smallest bits of metal. there should be some possibilites around the old town. But... you know how some people get when you start digging in their yard. good luck
