I bought a PC game from a car boot. It installed fine, but when we click on play, the screen comes up, changes to blue and the box comes up prompting me to connect to the internet. I close this box and sometimes the blue screen will disappear as well, sometimes it doesn't. The game is by ubisoft and a company called Lexis Numerique. When i try and run the game from the start menu it says " Lexis common player has encountered a problem and needs to shut down "
Any help will be appreciated as my daughter is desperate to play it and is giving me verbal gbh.

Sometimes a "file" can get corrupted during install.

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and "remove" this particular program.

Then reboot your PC. This will clear "active" memory and registry settings on your pc.

Reinstall the program.

IF... there was a corruption during the first install attempt it will probably be corrected during this install. If you have the same issues after you do this, then you need to contact the manufacturer through their website and either discuss it with their tech support and/or research the problem in their FAQ section.

Hope this helps.

I't possible that this game is quite old and was meant to be played on Win 98/ME and not XP/2000/Vista.
Go to help and support type in "compatibility mode" in the search (without quotes) and run the program compatability wizard and see if that helps.

It could have a dodgy harddrive boot sector if it does this when loading?. Or you could try re-installing windows to fix the problem.
