well you could try to eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day and only drink water. and try to excercise about 5 times a week. plus try to not eat about 4 hours before you go to bed. i have heard that if you dont eat often, then when you do eat and its alot your body tends to store more of what you just had. i am trying Alli starting today.

Well first you should figure out how many calories you can eat in a day.
http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/blcalcalc.htm
Once you've done that. You should get 500 less then your normal intake. And then as far as eating goes. Eat six SMALL meals a day. You should try to eat more healthy, not just to lose weight, but just to live longer. But you can eat what you want once a while. But in SMALL PORTIONS.
Fried foods (if thats what you like) - honestly just aren't good for you. Not just cause it makes you fat, but it's horrible for your heart. But if you really like that pizza or french fries or whatever. have it once or twice a month but have small portions of it. Don't sit down and eat a whoole lot.
But yeah. Other then that. Eat your food small portions, with not a crapload of sauce, and count your calories if you can. And you should also try and exercise at least 5 times a week. Even an hour of walking is good. Oh! And drink lots of water. 8 glasses a day. You should drink before you eat so you feel more fool. And eat your food slowly. When people eat their food fast they tend not to feel that they are full even though they are.

To a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.
As far as a "healthy weight", that's what most of the other posts are about (calculating your BMI, diet plans, etc).... but most people will say what the "average" is according to different opinions.
As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that
That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more.

You do not have to lose the flavor from your foods to lose weight. Dieting is a very profitable marketing myth.
You can go out and take a pill that makes you not eat and pumps up you metabolism. Only to gain the weight back when you stop taking the pill.
or......
You can eat cardboard meals that will only disgust your taste buds causing you to binge on the yummy stuff.
or......
You can eat reasonable meals and snacks. Give your body about 30 days to understand what you are doing. Then watch the weight go away and stay away.
(I lost 55lbs while pregnant eating this way.)
There are other reasonable, healthy methods that I recommend highly, but I hesitate not knowing your age.
