How can I track/find a package sent via USPS to Brazil?

I sent a package back in July and when tracking it on the USPS website, all I get is that the package arrived four days later and is in Customs!!

It means what it says. I just lost 2000 used books to customs in Vietnam. The only thing that the shipping company can do is get it there. Once its there the Customs people may decide to hold it or confiscate it or who knows what. Not the Fault of USPS. Just a fact of life.
