Why drown innocent children? They can't control what their parents do. Drown the criminals, instead.
If you are referring to the story of Noah's Ark, which sounds like that you are, Have you ever thought that just maybe the story of Noah's Ark was just a story to get God's followers attention by telling them "That if you don't behave yourself this could happened again." The book of Genesis was written around the year 1200 BC and Noah's Ark was supposed to have taken place around 3500 BC, 2300 years after the great flood took place.
I'm happy to say that I'm a Christian and I believe in God but I'm willing to ask you what more likely happen, "God created the Great Flood to make man suffer for his misdeeds and also destroying his creation in the process, or that the Great Flood never happened in the first place and Moses made the story up just to get the peoples' attention with the idea of hoping to scare them straight?" I'm not saying that the Bible is nothing but a pack of lies because that is even farther from the truth, but 2300 years did pass by before anything was ever written about the Great Flood.

Well I'm an atheist and won't antagonise any further. Yu've done a good job in my eyes of questioning the scruples of the good and the holy, and perhaps causing them to question themselves.
What I will mention for a couple of paragraphs though is the "criminal gene".
"Recent research (Genetic Link to Violent Youth Behavior, Science 2 Aug. 2002) has strongly established a link between a gene, monoamine oxidase-A or MAOA, and violence. MAOA comes in a strong and a weak version. The study found that 85% of men with the weak version of the gene who had been abused as children exhibited criminal or antisocial behavior by the time they were adults. That is nine times the rate exhibited by those with the strong version of the gene who were abused as children."
Now what are we do do in this situation:
Genetically screen parents and have forced abortions or sterilisation? Lock susceptible offenders away for life? Kill the newborn if their parents seem unlikely to bring them up well?
No!
There are alternatives which place reasonable faith in humanity:
We should fight for an end to poverty and child abuse, both in convention family settings and also in social care units where there is a pattern of instability in caregiving relationships. We might develop a medicine which compensates for the weak MAOA gene and it's different transcriptive products, so that voilent offenders migh have a renewed biophysical chance at a normal like. We might in the future even genetically screen for the gene and monitor families with such children, or at leas provide guidance, support and advice.
Place a little faith in humanity, look where advances in science have gotten us, and lessen the fervour with which you seek the good of the next life, for in doing thus you might become a far better person and help us all, including the as yet unborn generations of the future, to look back, and sensibly on, with pride.
Good luck.

Still at it , eh Elmo ? Where do you come up with these ridiculous "questions" ? Too much time on your hands ? Not "getting" enough ? Doctor changed your meds and they`re not working (again) ?
I have a nagging suspicion you want to take over as "God" so bad you pee yourself whenever you think about it ! You may be able to fool a few people with your incoherent , unintelligent blubberings , but not everyone is stupid , you know ?
Why not spend your time doing something useful , like learning to knit , weave baskets , or make a quilt ? You`d be the envy of the neighbourhood when you show off your hand-made baskets , and there`d be no more need to try impressing people here with your unintelligible ramblings .
Stop by and let us know how you`re coming along with the baskets Elmo !
Have a NICE day ...............................

I believe that the bible was written by man, because it has human mistakes in it, like the one you mention, the eye for an eye thing, and others, those are human failures in writing something that would keep man straight, using even scare tactics, as drowning your children if you were a criminal.
Writing about heaven and hell, to keep man straight,
I believe in the teachings of Jesus, and not on books written by man, with his weaknesses, coming through every page that you read.

And to think the other day my account was deleted cause I said I wanted to rape a guy and thats why I didnt believe in God...I asked if that sounded logical to anyone.
But drowning babies yes that sounds just great. These things perplex me as to why is it that many Christians ask atheist "where do morals come from?"

You know, it doesn't make sense to me why God allowed that. But I'm not God either. He is in complete control at all times and whatever he thinks is right, then it is. Who am I (or you) to judge what he does and his motives for doing what he does? Did I lay the foundations of the earth? So I know every single thing that is going to happen from beginning to end? No. My only advice is that you talk to Him about it, and get it worked out. Since you seem so pro-life, perhaps He can change your anger about the Old Testament into something productive today.

l truly cannot understand how people can believe god, allows people to kill others for what ever reason if god is such a being as to have such great powers that lv read he does in the bible l truly dont believe god would allow it,so therefore l am inclined to believe we as human beings created in gods image are responsible for these actions called killing another person,it is extremely sad, that we allow our emotions to create such hurt and sorrow and hurt to own self but more so to others

Hello Orion.. :)
I say this in Love.. :)
And how is this any different, than killing a baby in our womb..?
Or is killing an unborn child different.. ?
Can you please show us the scripture, because something always took place that caused God's wrath..
Thank-you so very much.. :)
I pray you and your loved ones have a wonderful weekend..I Love the picture of your precious little grandson.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)
ADDITIONAL: What did I say, that was so wrong.. :(
That is OK, I still Love you.. :)
I just read Genesis 7..and no where does it say any children drowned..who is to say that all that drowned were not full grown and there were no children because, of their want for one another.. :(

A nun tried to tell me this was god's way of showing he loved us, and that even children need to be punished sometimes. I laughed so hard, then I got pretty creeped out by her and decided to never allow my (future possible) kids around nuns.
