Are you saying that if you had to, you could make yourself attracted to the same sex? I mean if it's a choice, surely you could switch if you needed to? If your answer is yes then you are bi-sexual, if your answer is no then you agree that it isn't a choice.

Why do assume that because I asked this I must be gay? I'm str8, but that's besides the point.

whether it's a choice or not, it doesn't make homosexual acts right.

Does this raise an issue within Darwins Theory of evolution by Natural Selection?
I am not for or against it, but it does raise an issue if it truly is hardwired or genetic.
Edit: I am a heterosexual male from a country were homosexuality is fully legal, and a long as it's consenting adults. I do not care what goes were.
I don't think it's a "choice" but I do think it may be a phsycological variable that has possible factors. I was born Asexual, I didn't think about sex full stop at a young age(no one is born with sexual awareness to my knowledge). It was really preteens I actually started becomming aware of sex.
I am not a homosexual or bi so I will never fully understand it, all I am saying is I don't think this question can speak for every homosexual out there. We are varied human beings.

Ultimately its a choice if someone wants to embrace being gay, but if they really are attracted to the same sex then it's probably an inborn thing. Who can explain how their mind works, it's all subconcious

In a way it is a choice because we all make certain choices before our next life time cycle.
But when you are reborn back onto the Earth, then NO, it's not a choice.

I agree that being gay isn't a choice.
I ask everyone to remember that Jews weren't the only ones who suffered during the Holocaust. It was people from a different race and even gay people. Who would "choose" to go through that kind of suffering? And gay people have been discriminated against for years. Why would they "choose" to go through that?

Well, in my country, we protect choices, like the choice to be a Christian and a jerk simultaneously, so I don't see why even people with the lame idea that sexuality is chosen get off trying to legislate against it.
You're born gay, you're not born a Christian, but we protect that ANYWAYS.
[Edit: Not prevalent in olden times....roffle. ZOMG! Let me catch my breath. It was so prevalent in ancient times that there are over a dozen words in Latin to describe different types and variations of being gay.]

Thank you! I hate it when people say homosexuality or bisexuality is a choice.
People like that usually dont understand the concept of there being other sexualitys.

homosexuality is not a choice, its inner feelings and hormones that make you attracted to the opposite sex! its very hard to keep yourself from giving into these feelings, and anyone who does is just denyin themselves their own inner self
