I needed some guidance to know about the proper & legal way in terms of doing all the formalities to get married a woman who is not Indian, as I am being a Indian national and thinking to bring that woman to India and then getting married with her.
1. I want to know which type of visa she should apply for visiting India?
2. Would she have to get married there in her country with me before we travel back to India or she can get married with me in India itself?
3. Is there any site where I can get the details properly so that I can study myself?
4, Where should I contact to get the proper informations regarding this matter?
Kinldy help me
Thanks

You can marry her in her own country under the Foreign Marriage Act,1969,that marriage can be preformed between any Indian citizen & any foreigner according to this Act before the Marriage officer/registrar who is appointed under this Act & who happens to be an Embassy officer in the foreign country where you want to marry her. The condition necessary for such marriage are your stay in that country of one month before you give notice for such marriage of another month after which only you can marry her, this one months notice is for any objections against this marriage. The other conditions are age of majority of both of you, fit mental status, on marital status & no objection from her countries law regarding such inter-racial/national marriage. After getting married under this Act you get a certificate that is good enough for not only both these countries both whole of world, her Indian Immigration, citizenship etc can be done on the basis of this certificate itself. If you want to marry her back home in India then get no objection certificate from her Home Department about her getting married to you according to Indian Form of marriage in India & such marriage is not infringing any of her countries law or is against her countries law regarding marriage. On the basis of this NOC you can marry with her here under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 following the similar procedure or check my profile in yahoo answer for detailed answer about the procedure followed for marriage under this Act. You need not go to any site on net other then what I tell you here for all such issues. My yahoo answer profile itself has so much information through my answers on such issues that other websites including Google & Yahoo search use it for general public information.

If you are Indian citizen there is no restriction of any kind for marrying a foreigner. ndian marriage Act puts restriction on marriage of two relatives mentioned in the act and that you should not be already married to some one. In later case you have to produce sanction of the first wife. Any type of Visa will do as ultimately she has to apply for change of citizenship. it is advisable to get an MOU signed by both of you and registered that both of you will get married after going to India. This is only to protect you from some untoward events after coming to India.

MR, I easily disagree with my very own adventure. i'm an NRI, yet my case is distinctive as I moved to u . s . a . upon getting married in India, yet I easily have 100s of Indian pals in u . s . a ., uk, Australia, Singapore and midsection East. could be few someplace else additionally yet can not keep in mind at this 2d. I easily have not heard a single case such that the place I see an unusual combat like that does no longer take place in Indian households in India. What happens is, the media human beings take one or 2 cases and blow them out of proportion, for this reason we would desire to be very careful with those media comments.
