I realize that the bill is dead, but there are still very similar bills which are proposing the same ideas. Many illegal aliens go onto break laws like ID theft and document forgery once they come into this country...as well as trashing National Parks. My question is why this government was so willing to give amnesty for any laws that the illegal aliens broke, while incarcerating US citizens for the same crime?

The bill was written by special interest groups. Many legislators did not read the bill and relied on their leaders to tell them how to vote. The bill was over 600 pages long. Amendments to the bill were over 300 pages long.
