I would go wherever the hell you want to go! I'm serious - why should your holiday options be limited just because you're a solo traveller. I'd avoid any of those nasty package deals where you'll be expected to eat/drink with a bunch of smug couples and their children- could this happen on a cruise too? Other than that, I think you can go anywhere and do anything. I've often found that when you travel independently, it's easy to make friends. In my experience, I've met more cool people travelling solo than travelling as part of a couple. If you want ease, an English speaking country will be a good bet – considered the US or Canada?

There are plenty of options open, including lone travelling although I could see that be quite lonely.
If you have interests or hobbies then it may be an idea to join a group that organise holidays and events, so you're spending time with like minded people.
There are singles holiday groups that book destinations in bulk, you are bound to meet someone or afew people that share your interests there.
The other option is to fulfill your dreams and take a camera, travel on cruise ship, or down the nile on a boat, go see the great wall of China.
I hope this helps.

I think the best thing to do is go on a cruise. There are all kinds of things you can do on your own, but most have a singles coordinator, and various mingling events so you can meet like minded people, eat great food, and see different places

It all comes down to what do you like doing, and how much time you have.
Go somewhere you have not been before.
(Cable Beach[Broome] WA) was the last place I had a holiday.

Anywhere SKIING....
You'll meet up with tons of folk (if you do a ski school course)
Then on the piste during the day, on the pist at night
If you don't like skiing try scuba diving instead and hook up with a buddy and great boat trips to dive sites and of course you have no hassle meeting folk.
