Absolutely !! Along with skateboarders !! Sadly, one of the reasons costs are high are the INCREDIBLE levels of insurance the railroads have to carry to protect themselves from the IDIOCY of others.

I commute on CalTrain in Northern California, and the fine is around $50 to $100... sadly, there just aren't enough Amtrak-Cops around to provide constant monitoring.

But I HAVE seen conductors refuse to permit a person who rode their bike thru the station to BOARD a train !!

They should be punished in some way, as they are placing themselves and others in danger.

It would be theoretically possible to do them for trespass (even if they have a ticket), as railway stations are private property, and they are also breaking railway by-laws.

In fairness, a lot of platform staff are now quick to spot the problem, and make sure the cyclist dismounts. I'm convinced some cyclists (and skateboarders etc.) do it just for devilment.

No, Why cyclist? But a man goes with a cycle in the railways station, should be punished. If not, you may take you bike, and another day, you would like to take your car inside!

I have better idea, many years ago I was on train arriving back in Southampton where I lived at the time, as train pulled into station some asshole was riding his bicycle alongside the train trying to show off, I open door of train and knock him flying, bike gets mangled and the cyclist gets bruised and scraped. He also tried to start fight with me and get bruised again. I think they should get arrested for placing public safety in danger

According to the railway by-laws, anyone cycling on a railway station platform is trespassing, so in theory they can be arrested, but is there a policeman when you want them?

cyclists are supposed to follow the rules of the road more or less as if they are vehicles.
You cant drive you car on the platforms, bikes shouldnt be there either. push them off
