Marist College is an excellen school. It is a small liberal arts college which makes the campus a friendly place. Also Vassar is well known university. Best part about that area is you're not far from NYC, 75 miles.

What kind of info?
Marist is locally referred to as "Harvard on the Hudson", since it's very comperable to the Ivy League schools. (My mom teaches there.) Vassar is also a good school. (Marist has the better scenery!) There's also the CIA - Culinary Institute of America not far from either school. Poughkeepsie is not your typical "college town" - that would be New Paltz, which is across the river - because Poughkeepsie is too spread out for that. There's decent public transpo, if you're not able to have a car. There's plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Good sightseeing when the 'rents come to town. Where to live - if you can get a dorm room, it'd be better, because renting an apartment in the area is NOT cheap.

What else would you like to know?
