All you have to do is ask ALLAH (swt) to help you. ALLAH(swt) knows all. He knows that you need help. At the same time, you MUST pray and ask HIM. Shaytan is tempting you to not pray. Shaytan is giving you reasons not to pray to ALLAH. Think of ways to make things easier to get you to pray. Like, how is your covering for praying? Is is something that you just slip on? Or is it something that you have to wrap, fix and pin and takes you 5 or 10 min. to do? Wudu (ablution) only takes about 2 min.
Im an american Muslemah living in Egypt with my Egyptian husband & his mom & dad. Alhamdulillah! I would love to help you. If you need to please email me, thru my profile here.
EDIT:
OH! find the nearest Mosque or Islamic Center in your area. Attend classes. They will help you! Inshaa ALLAH.

In the same boat.... in specific, the one thing i can recommend is don't pray because you have to, but because you want to....until that happens....just pray when you have to. I'd also read up on some of the sins of missing prayers, being late....and then take time to think about it. Really understand what it means.
Also, i'd read up on Islam more....being muslim myself, there is still a lot more i can learn. After that, i'd read about islam from a pure historical perspective....(assuming there is no god, and how islam would've came into being with that respect......I had a religious study class and every religion was presented that way...the historical first, then how the people of that religion interpret it). After you feel comfortable with that....i'd then go back and read up on catholicism....i'd say try to find a non biased source, but that might be a problem...so might ahve to get a bias from both directions. Also read up about it from the historical point of view....Do'nt just stop at jesus, but read a couple hundered years past that.
Personally, especially how i understand islam....when i do learn something new, i don't blindly follow it/ believe it..... i try to find out why it is the way it is.
I would say i strongly believe in islam , but i have trouble practicing...its suppose to be easy, but you have to make it easy by believe....
for instance....not eating pork is a problem if you are always like...damnit i really want a ham sandwhich.....but once you get to...islam doesn't allow, i don't want it....then its not a problem.

To "ask God into your heart" is not an Islamic concept; it's a Christian one.
To be worthy of the love of Allah, you have to do the right thing, all the time. The Koran says that Allah does not love any ungrateful sinner. He does not love the mischief-makers. In fact there are quite a few categories of sinners that Allah does not love, according to the Koran, which Islam teaches is the perfect word of God.
To "be a better Muslim," you have to abide by the teachings of the Koran. Read Surah (chapter) 9 -- some of Islam's obligations are explained there.
Islam doesn't have all that stuff about Jesus loving us so much that he died to wash away our sins. In Islam, you're accountable. When you die, Allah looks at the good you've done and the bad you've done, and if the bad outweighs the good, you go to hell. The only way to get around that is to die on the battlefield in jihad. Then you're a martyr, and all the bad you've done is wiped away. And you go to Paradise, not to be with God like the Christians teach about Heaven where this loving relationship between you and God is fulfilled, but to a land of eternal pleasures.
So if you want to be a better Muslim, submit and obey.

The Muslim belief about God is that He is without place, without shape and without direction. Also, one must believe in the Messengers of God.
The Muslim who commits sins does so because of some problem. The fixing needs to happen in the heart and what is in the heart will show on the organs.
The Muslim can ask God for strength to obey Him and must make sure they have the correct beliefs about Islam and are not committing any of the sins.
If something goes wrong, the starting place to look is the heart.

I give you this answer sister
there is only 1 Chapter that answers this for you
and its inside the Tefseer of it!
Al Asr
Verily in time, mankind will suffer great loss.
Allah is talking about the Muslims directly! The only time Allah SWT is not talking directly to the Muslims in Surah Al Tauba that is why it doesn't start with In the Name of Allah Most Gracious Most High... did you ever ask yourself that question why, other than most Muslims know. because we are not to do what they do in that chapter... so we can ask this question everyday and until we finally do something like you said its not ever going to change.
Everyday your last live, breath, walk, drink and eat Islam! and if you don't then your just as mixed as all the nuts they eat! ahaha
Salam

fighting the devil to stay strong and pray is a type of jihad and is the greater jihad .
almost every one goes through it if not every one does.
if i feel bad i ask God for forgiveness and try doing a good deed even if it's small.
you can help other people even if non muslim, you have to be good to your parents and relatives even if they don't share your faith and you will get hasanat ( ajr) for it.
take it one step at a time, start with saying la ilaha illa Allah , praying and reading quraan .
be good to yourself and others to feel good about yourself.
to read more about islam and christianity and know that you're on the right path you can go to this site:

i hope you feel better soon sweetie

Islam is a satanic religion that was founded by a fallen angel. He threatened to Kill Mohammed if he did not do as he was told, would a friendly angel do that?? threaten to kill you?? It was then assumed by mohammed's wife thatit was Gabriel God's messenger who spoke to Moajhmmed, and ever since then people have always believed it was Gabriel, no proof of who it was really. The Quran goes against every teaching of the Bible and I would advise you to stay clear of it
God loves all people, sinners warts and all , as we are ALL sinners, God loves his creation
