I know that if it were me going on my long awaited for and hard saved for holiday I would be none too pleased to catch your cold and be laid up for some of my holiday.

You are a high risk at passing it on as the air in the plane is recycled (as you know) and the germs will hang around longer as you are in a small environment.

Take a sickie, it sounds like you need it ,get well ,and hope you're flying high soon.

You should know better, if you really are a Stewardess? If you go into work and any passenger / passengers get ill, you could end up in prison at the very worst. That depends on the destination of the flight. International Law clearly states that it is a criminal offence to travel when ill. You say it's only a head cold but what if it's viral and 100+ passengers end up with something like meningitis or a couple of old dears die from a serious flu bug. You should have more sense! Remember, what you are carrying will certainly be passed on to every passenger. To be honest, just from your attitude, I'd say that you are unfit to be a Stewardess when you are willing to ignore International Laws and risk infecting a plane load of people with something. Now I know why the Airlines don't do their job properly and allow passengers to fly to the UK with serious diseases like TB etc. The Stewardesses have your attitude and let the infected people fly when International Law says that they shouldn't. Maybe, if a few Stewardesses were prosecuted for working when ill and / or allowing sick people to travel, you just might want to take your responsibilities seriously.

I wouldn't risk it and would be off sick. I had a head cold when I once flew to America on holiday and on landing the pressure change in the aircraft made me get the worst tooth & ear ache and one side of my face went purple I was nearly crying! My boyfriend at the time found the purple face highly amusing though!

Take the sickie. The pressure changes will be uncomfortable. You ears will feel, at the very least, be uncomfortable and you will not be able to hear properly. Your balance is likely to go. As its a head cold, your vision may go blurry. The pressure change make all colds more uncomfortable than they are.

Also as a passenger, I don't want to be served by someone who is obviously uncomfortably ill with an aggravated cold.
