Because you are a thinker instead of a follower?

Are you sure you don't have the capacity? After all you did ask the question, which proves you have some capacity to think outside of yourself. This is the first step. Keep on going.

Be very careful because there is a lot of mis-information out there about God. Find yourself a spiritual mentor that you love and trust who can work with you individually.

Particularly, avoid practicing behaviors that are expressly forbidden by religion (and for this purpose almost any religions moral code will do) as engaging in "sinful" behavior places huge barriers to seeing the reality of God, until such behavior practically destroys you and then God can come along and pick up the pieces. It is better to search for God in a more disciplined way.

You are fortunate. It's not about lacking faculty. An intelligent mind does not need god or satan. You reason things out for yourself. You take responsibility for yourself. Why would you feel you are lacking when you have everything? Most of us have to fight ourselves to be rid of the god/satan dilemma. You don't need to look outside of yourself for answers. They are already inside you.

Because you never looked!

Do you really think the atomic particle and the atom were just happenstance?

Do you believe the same symmetry that exists in the atom, exists in the galaxies, just happened to coincide?

Do you think we could formulate and transmit electricity, something no one has ever seen, yet can be formulated, is something that just came about?

You're right about one aspect of the question. Don't believe in non-existence things. But, believe in existence....
