Lucifer, as he had always been named, was the left hand of God
After his rebellion, he was casted down from heaven with one third of the Heavenly Hosts who conspired with him.
However, there was no name change to Satan.
The being "Satan" was derived from the word "shaitan" meaning opponent.
The early church father equated Lucifer to Satan as they needed someone to instill the fear of Evil into the common people and Lucifer was the only one who had went directly against God

Lucifer was an angel. He was expelled from Heaven because he wanted to be greater than God. He and his followers (other rebellious angels) were driven out of glory by the Arch Angel Michael. He is very much alive and well at the present time. But in the end he will thrown into the pit of fire to burn for eternity. All those who reject God will be removed from the presence of God to spend eternity in total darkness, all alone, with no hope or ever repenting and being forgiven.

No that is not true. Lucifer was one of Gods Creations. He was the most beautiful Angel that God created. He rebelled against God, wanting to become God himself and was cast out of Heaven and into the Pit of Hell along with the other Angels that sided with him during this rebellion. Lucifer is Satan, Devil, Evil One,The Beast, one in the same, and he is still rebelling against God, by stealing the Souls of man and leading them right into the Pit of Hell with him.

Not scripture, but an interesting story. Satan was the most beautiful of all the angels, Lucifer actually means 'bringer of light'. Go figure.

Lucifer was music originally. Don't think he was killed. Just released to be what he is and has always been. A really bad guy.

The devil used to be a good angel of God. But he became jelous of God, and wanted God's power. So he became evil, and God created Hell for him, and all of the non-believers. He was never killed.

Lucifer was originially one of God's most trusted and highest angels until he "dissed" God and got himself thrown down to Earth - I'm fairly certain his original name was Gabriel, but I'm not totally sure of the name.

Angels are made from light and have no free will, thus they can never disobey God.
Satan/Lucifer was a jinn and made from fire, and was cast out by God when he disobeyed God's commands.

We believe in a different story. Satan (or the Devil) is a Jinn made of fire. When God created Adam, he asked all Jinns to bow to him, all did BUT Satan refused. He said that he would not bow to a human made of clay as he thought he was superior to him because he was made of fire. That's when God sentenced him to eternal damnation.
