UK National Lottery London advised by e.mail that I won the prize 1 million UK pounds and they want me to send them 580 pounds to Scarlet Courier Ltd., England to meet expenses for courier service, insurance and VAT. Kindly advise whether this one is genuine or not. I am quite a poor man and it would be a stupendous effort for me to raise the loan from friends to pay to the courier service. Sincere advise requested.
Yours truly

Dear Mr.Patnaik
I am receiving such mails atleast one in a week. and also I am receiving mails requesting me to accept $s as the money to be transferred to other country. I never replied such mails. Because I know they are scams.
If you do not buy a lottery ticket, how can you get the prize ?
Just to cheat you by taking some $s from you, they are playing.
Some mails say that they were from their govts. If so why they give thiery free email ids like yahoo ?

be carefull while dealing with such people

good luck

No, it's not legit, it's a scam. I get these emails frequently. Think about it - if you really won all that money, why couldn't they just take the expenses out of the winnings?

Just delete it - sorry, you didn't win anything. It's one of the very common scams right now - people ask about it here pretty much every day.

Can't be, friend because I won it.

About six times now.

Also have sick friends in Africa who want to leave their millions to charity and will give me half if I will help. Just keep the e-mail to amuse your friends. Don't reply. By the way, look at the extension on the e-mail address of the sender. Most of mine come from "dot hk".
