If it's a big drama ordeal, then he's not the guy for you. It's not a "transition", there shouldn't be anything to get used to. The only thing changing is that you aren't dating other people, just him. And you should want to do that at this point. If you don't, then don't make the commitment to be the girlfriend.

It's always going to be difficult when you start out. Now it will seem like he's all you think about day-by-day, and you seem to spend a lot of time with him, but that will pass, eventually. After your relationship gets into the flow, after a little while, it will seem more natural. Trust me, there's no easy way to make the transition simple. You just have to wake up one morning, look in the mirror, and be like, "I have a boyfriend! Yay!". :)

Don't worry so much about your status with the guy... whether you are dating or actually in a relationship or just having some fun, your not anywhere close to being married or anything yet so just go with it and have some fun!! Don't worry so much about the particulars.

Transition? Shouldn't it just fit? I mean, are you comfortable being around him or do subconcious alarms go off in your head? Maybe I didn't understand your question.

Try to think of him as more like your best friend so you can be more comfortable with him
