i'm not an immigrant but i'm hispanic and I, like many others support all the immigrants legal and illegal, they have come here to work and provide for their families. they don't come for hand outs, they come to earn their money.

you keep complaining about how they cost the government money, but what about all the money they lose on taxes and can't claim back at the end of the year, they are the reason why our economy is doing good.

these "criminals" are just trying to survive, these "criminals" risk their lifes coming here to do back breaking work, like cleaning our toilets, doing our beds, picking up that box of strawberries that you enjoy.

avegirl-
the mexicans that come here legally are middle and upper class, the lower class (poor) can't afford or don't know the procedure of how to get here legally, most don't pay coyotes to come here, most come here alone or with friends or family.

I just want to comment on your statement: "but what about all the money they lose on taxes and can't claim back at the end of the year, they are the reason why our economy is doing good."

The illegal immigrants I know arent paying any taxes. They work off the books. It is tax free work. In New York City, they have free education and health care for them. Where is the money for this "free" education and health care coming from. I will tell you. I pay a school tax every year to the city. I dont even have children that go to school.

I have no problems with aliens, but the free stuff that they are getting is my tax dollars. Why should I have to pay for their children? There are many problems, but the illegal immigrants are not the only one to blame. They are just taking advantage of a loophole in the system. Our government is not applying the right solutions to fix the problems.

Yes, we know they come to earn money. But what you're failing to realize is that they're, technically speaking, stealing money from the U.S. Government that rightfully belongs to legal citizen employees.

Our economy was doing fine before the sudden rush of illegals. I don't think anyone had a problem with the economy in the 50s, 60s, 80s, or 90s.

EDIT:
Those "backbreaking" jobs still got done when no illegals were here. Are you telling me that we can't survive without illegals because guess what, we've done it for several hundred years. Nice try, but I'm afraid you're wrong. Illegals simply aren't needed in this country for any reason whatsoever.

Some do, some don't. 40% of Latino voters voted for Proposition 200 in Arizona to deny benefits to illegal immigrants, by exit polls.

Their taxes, even if they pay all and don't take too many deductions, nowhere near touch the cost even just of education at $10,000 per year per child in places like California, not to mention the bigger cost to our own children of the overcrowded failing schools on year round schedules with emergency credentialed teachers and programs for achievers cut to fund ESL and family intervention for millions of children of those illegally here.

Huge numbers of them here equals a huge impact. Their better life is at our expense.

And the economy is only good for business owners and the rich, as we subsidize the 'benefit packages' for the illegal workers.

immigrants are supported...not illegals

Why would you support someone who cuts in front of a person who has been waiting? Why would you support people who come here and demand rights, but won't come here legally? People that are legal have family members who have been waiting over 10 year to come here the right way and illegals just think they can come here and not have to do anything the right way.

Comparison:
Two poor homeless people are standing in line for their meal at the soup kitchen. They are to sign their name, date, and fill out a form on their situation while they are waiting. One person does as they are supposed to, the other steps in front of the line and demands their food, then just gets the tray put out for them. How is this fair??

Still support illegals??

I don't care what country you come from, you need to do it the legal way and if you want to live in the country you need to conform to that countrys customs. I'm so sick of it being the other way around. Now if your from US no matter what color you are...you need to be able to speak spanish for a lot of jobs! Bi-lingual people get better shots at jobs. It's freakin ridiculous! I work with hispanics who cant speak spanish because their parents taught them that if you want to live here, you speak English. One night at the store I witnessed a pharmacist who was from a European country - she had a heavy accent but could speak ENGLISH - telling a spanish only speaking customer that she couldn't help him if he couldn't speak the language. I felt bad for the customer - but then I thought 'she's absolutely right' She came to this country and worked her *** off - why can't he?

Back to the subject though....they are costing our government money. The government wants to cut back health care for elderly to support them. give me a break! Reality...the illegal workers may not be able to file for taxes - bfd! They send most of it back to their own country anyways.

Sometimes people have to do what ever is necessary to survive. When the government ignores the pleas of the people, and makes agreements with their neighbors like the north american free trade agreement (NAFTA), that further displace people, fearless people take matters into their own hands. Immigrants are coming humbly to do the work people in the U.S. refer to as "menial". I can't wait to support a reform that raises wages for these jobs and provides healthcare, putting dignity back into work.
_________

I also pay taxes. I don't have a problem paying for the "illegal" children to go to school. I'd rather an informed populace, then not.

Avegirl: If you haven't eaten in days, and your child was dying, and the only thing that could save your child was 1000 people ahead of you, (and you had to wait 6 years), but your child only had 1 year, What would you do?

My wife is a legal immigrant and she does not support illegal immigrants. Me, I'd march them all to the border tomorrow. They're law breaking parasites who need to go back to their own country and sponge off of their own government.

sounds familiar similiar language was used in the earlier parts of the twentieth century ''they are taking are jobs''. this about workers from the Phillipines. or they might be interested in our women. then there is the Chinese Head Tax and worry about them ''taking our jobs''. what took them in the end was more automation not workers from somewhere else. eventually everything will be automated but people will still blame ''illegal immigrants'' not ''illegall machinery'' how about trying to get rid of that machinery. besides the people depriving people of jobs are employers downsizing laying off restructuring.manual jobs are going to become obsolete. low wages make higher profits. why not make companies from the U.S. illegall in Mexico get them kicked out so they can come back to the U.S. maybe am wrong.
