No. He initially represented imaginary friends, which lots of children have. He was eventually made visible to the adults, in part to encourage children who were being sexually abused to tell someone, assuring them that they (unlike Big Bird for years) would be believed. "You're making it up" or "it's all in your head", when he clearly WASN'T, turned out to not be such great messages to young children.
The only possible connection to Christianity might be that teaching a child that a God who drowns, Plagues, and slaughters millions, conspires to have his own kid beaten and executed, and commands his followers to hurt and kill others, is 'love' or moral, or good, is also NOT a good message.

I would like to believe that Jesus, who was trying to teach how to become "THE CHRIST" the same way he did to everyone, was allowed sight into the future enough to see the dark times between the religions of the world. Was he not raised in a time of the Roman Gods being forced upon those of Jewish Faith? To believe this would be a surprise to someone willing to accept that it takes all kinds is just a bit off I think. Then again, I tend to anger those who are looking for a fight by wishing them well and giving them a smile that can melt ice with a stare they know goes through to the soul... and once there, I project All the Love I can. I'm better at it some days than others, but to really answer your question... perhaps the one about throwing the first stone... or was that about kicking the stoner out... ME! .

Is that what it was? I never did understand how come when I was a kid Snuffie was invisible to everyone except Big Bird and me, but now everyone can see him? Sup with dat? And if you're right, then atheists don't have to worry; if God is real, someday everyone will be able to see him, won't they?
Peace to you.

I don't remember him as an imaginary friend. That is quite a leap, but I see your point. Someone should ask the Sesame Street people.

Nah it must have been Hindu propaganda. You know, Ganesh? And also the old story of the 3 blind Hindus? Ditto for Smurphs and their blue skin.
