im fourteen, and about a year ago i looked in the mirror and was like "wow i have flab" so now i watch daily workout shows, try to swim alot, keep a calorie intake diary (i try only 1500 calories a day)
breakfast-300 calories
mid morning snack- 100
lunch-400
mid afternoon snack-200
dinner-500
and excerzise, and water. try to have a great motivation, put a celebrity picture on the fridge so when you think of junk food you can look at it, and say "i dont need it". all these minor changes put together shouldnt worry your mom and should do the trick quickly.
but whatever you do, dont stop eating or deprive yourself. also dont try and of those deit pills they wont work.

Sounds to me like your not really that overweight to begin with. But you do want to lose a few pounds. You don't have to give up sweets completly. Eat them every once in a while. But make sure you eat them early in the day/afternoon so you have plenty of time to burn it off. But, for the losing weight part, try using the special k diet. I did it and drank a lot of water and I started losing weight after a week. It would also help to set up an exercising routine for you to follow at night. That's also what I did. Good luck!!!

Take sweets as part of the food and the first item.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.
Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.

This is simple, you need to take responsibility for what you eat. Eating fruits and vegetables and lean meats is healthy for you. Do not diet, just eat right. Keep the treats to once a week. I know this is hard, because I too have a sweet tooth. Then find other ways to exercise, even walking. At 12, you really should find a sport to play, or get involved in dance or cheer. Think healthy and work on being healthy, not dieting.

Try this: Before you eat, drink LOTS of water, and I mean LOTS! Now when you eat, you'll be pretty full because of the water, and you wont eat alot. Also when you eat, eat only what makes your stomach last not so much that you're bloated. Plus, oatmeal is fiber so it burns fat quicker than other foods so eat that. And one of the most important things is to EXERCISE. I eat LOTS of sweets too, but when I exercise, it kind of substitutes for it. Do 20 crunches a day for 2 months, and you will have abs plus you'll be skinnier. Good luck!

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.

It is hard because you are so young, and your mum would be concerned for your health. You need to increase your vegetable intake, and maybe eat more carbs instead of sugars? Things like brown bread can help.
You need to go walking, or walk with a friend for safety. When you get older, it will get easier because you can choose your own foods (chicken, broccoli, brown bread, vegetables, protein bars). One thing you can do is increase your water intake. 6 glasses per day!

Reduce your sugar intake. And one day, you will simply grow out of sweets. Read Reducing Sugar Intake http://lclfhfhpreducesugar.blogspot.com
And eat only complex carbs, lean meat, and lots of veggies. It will make your meals low caloried and yet filling and healthy.
Do brisk walking. They are great for burning body and tummy fats.
I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year. My tow sons are on the same diet except they eat more complex carbs for their high energy needs. All of us take about very little sugar and no sweets, just dark chocolates, ice cream and low fat yoghurt.
Details such as my experience, types of foods and veggies to eat, healthy low fat snacks, meals, recipes, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog.
