the government asks for a social security number to be placed on your pre-hire forms.. illegals do not have this number.. so the argument i hear often, is that illegals just put some random numbers down....
26 USC Section 7206(1)
Anyone who willfully makes and subscribes any return, statement, or other document, which contains or is verified by a written declaration that it is made under the penalties of perjury, and which he does not believe to be true and correct as to every material matter shall... be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $5,000, or imprisoned not more than 3 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution.
So not only is it impossible for them to pay taxes, if they are paying taxes, they are once again breaking ANOTHER LAW.

Read up on ITIN numbers....they pay their taxes with that number
here you go: http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96287,00.html
"IRS issues ITINs to individuals who are required to have a U.S. taxpayer identification number but who do not have, and are not eligible to obtain a Social Security Number (SSN) from the Social Security Administration (SSA).
ITINs are issued regardless of immigration status because both resident and nonresident aliens may have U.S. tax return and payment responsibilities under the Internal Revenue Code."
chew on that

Not sure if you know this, but employers are required to have a Taxpayer Identification Number for each employee. Some employers get around this by "paying under the table". Most don't as they do not need to.
Anyone who is employed in US or receives an income is required by Federal Law to pay income tax. being Out of Status or plain illegal is not grounds for failure to pay income tax.
If you are not able to obtain a Social Security Number then you file a form W-7 and obtain an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. Your employer then uses this ITIN to report the wages paid to illegal aliens in accordance with US law. The aliens file the form 1040 to report their actual income for the year and the tax laws are satisfied. IRS does NOT report to USCIS. Tax returns are confidential information and may not be shared with other government departments.
If you are wondering how an illegal alien can apply for ITIN, just read the W-7 instructions and THINK. The method is obvious :D

SPIDERPIG is right. As much as I would love for him to be wrong. In March of this year it was on the world news. Some illegals pay their taxes... not all illegals do.
Immigrations was upset that the IRS was collecting those taxes, but not turning over the illegals. So immigrations department made it a news story.
IRS stated that they do not enforce the immigration laws. Only collect taxes. They went on to say that if the illegals paid their taxes, IRS would not turn them in when doing so. IRS also gave them ITIN numbers for the filing, and for future filing. And since the ITIN number gave them a form of ID, they could then open banks accounts and such.
IRS official also stated that they didn't care if they were legal or illegal... they didn't care if the money was made legally or illegally. As long as the taxes on it was paid, they were fine with that.

Since ur so savvy at looking up information on the web, look up "earnings suspense file." In short, this is a file/account where all unclaimed tax revenue is collected, by ppl who dont file tax refunds or have no matching SSN. this money is dispersed to those elderly US citizens receiving SS income-ironic isn't it Americans 65 & older receiving money from illegal immigrants. The US gvmt. actually counts on the monies received yearly to accomodate SS benefits.
The earnings suspense file is part of the pool of social security trust fund money held -- and borrowed from -- by the government. The government borrows from trust fund money then repays it (again on paper) in things like treasury bonds.
"So the money goes right back out the door and gets used for all the things the federal government does; fights war, pays for social programs, builds roads, etc. But the money has to be re-paid to the file, lest it not be there when someone comes to claim it. But when money from illegal immigrants comes in under false or stolen identities, they're not likely to come back and claim it." according to : http://cbs4denver.com/local/local_story_209145251.html.

Also, some of them THINK they are paying taxes, but the employer is taking 'taxes' out on them, but not actually reporting the employee to the IRS. This is how they are not caught. Soon as corporations, and businesses are realizing they can be shut down for this and have to pay back all of these taxes, they will quit hiring them.

most undocumented buy social security cards from enterprising Americans, along with a whole set of matching ID. it is a requirement to be employed. To have a SS# and taxes are withheld under that number that immigrants must pay, they will never be able to use. there is $140 Billion overpayment at SSA in these taxes with held by payroll deduction., I guess the Americans check the Obituary page and use the deceased SS#.

What is an ITIN? An ITIN is a nine-digit Individual Taxpayer Identification Number issued by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to foreign individuals who are required to have a U.S. taxpayer identification number but are not eligible to obtain a social security number (SSN). ITINS begin with the number "9" and are formatted like a SSN (NNN-NN-NNNN). The ITIN is for tax purposes only. It does not entitle the individual to social security benefits, and creates no inference regarding the individuals immigration status or right to work in the U.S.

Income taxes are not the only taxes out there. Most illegals do menial jobs which do not pay a lot of income taxes anyway. The taxes which really matter are the sales taxes, property taxes, etc. They do pay those.
To mayhem_pinko- You are wrong, the Supreme Court has made it legal for the government to FORCE you to pay tax

Well what you will get from some is that they pay sales tax. But of course thats not what we are talking about we are talking about income tax.
Of course some pay it because they have either stolen or forged social security numbers.
