what are your thoughts on all these contractors wasting tax money in Iraq?

i've been in the Marines for 7 years and was in Iraq for almost 2 years and these guy's just steal money from the goverment!! They make 3 times what we do and the line to get chow is about a hour wait. They are set up with 30,000 dollar Suvs and a/c and rather well living conditions. i just want some thoughts. Hey there Nick you have the right to be a fool with your comments but I'm a SSGT and have seen some things over there you would never understand. i'm not blaming the contractors themselves it's the Corporations that are making billons of dollars that are just wasted for work that is not being done to help the Good men and women serving. You would not understand till you have seen what goes on but thanks for your thoughts. I wonder how long you would last? And I take great pride serving this country!!!!! It's funny are VP was the Ceo for Halaburton and they got the only bid for the job.

Money i'm making is not the issue it's the waste of Tax payers that is the problem. The guy's in Blackwater are a not getting the backing they should. Several have been put in a situation they should have never been in. I'm a Marine and will stay one. This crap with these Corporations is not hte american way . These are military jobs they are doing and not with pride with greed!!!

You only experienced a few of them. There are others that provide a service that makes deploying and redeploying a lot easier and faster. They are taking some the pressure off the Army as well as the Marines with logistics. If it weren't for some of them, deployment rotations would roll around a lot faster.

In some area, I agree with you! They are sucking up a LOT of tax dollars. Others, I consider a blessing them being there. All of them are only getting crumbs. It is the companies they work for that are making the big $$$$$$$$$$$. The execs are in the states, with their families, and banking BIG. No heat, no threats, just the comfortable living.

Honestly, the jobs they are performing, would you have been comfortable and content with locals doing their job? I sure as hell would not have been.....security clearance or not! I can't be mad at them. A lot of the ones I worked with and talked to were ex-military. They just happen to be in the right place at the right time to take advantage of the opportunity......if you want to call it that. I wouldn't go as a civilian, and wasn't thrilled about going as military.

I'm glad someone noticed that the US taxpayer is getting robbed. When this thing started we were told that Iraqi oil would pay the entire bill. So far only our marines, army, navy and air force guys and one Coast Guardsman have paid for anything..with their lives and limbs. At this point Iraqi infastructure is a worse mess than ever....there's less of it still standing and what's been 'rebuilt' is chessy $%^....I know that the forces there are doing what they've ordered to do, but it must really grate on them to see nothing getting better except the IED's and the accuracy of the shiite and sunni snipers. At some point there will be an investigation..you have to believe that this massive theft will be punished. If we were the Saudis heads would roll...literally. I'll settle for 25 years to life for some of these bums!

that is the problem when you have a president that is not honorable. He never understood that he is the caretaker of the nation and the servant of the people. He is all about corruption and allowing his friends to benefit financially on the blood of our honorable military. We need leaders that will stand up and say this is wrong and I won't stand for business as usual.

Thank you for your service, I wish that our president was willing to spend the money on the troops that he lavishes on his corporate cronies. Haliburton has made more money the last few years than ever before.

They aren't taking $$ from the govt, the govt is giving it to them i.e. no-bid contracting.
There is incredible funds requested for this entanglement over there and it's not being seen in the right places and huge lump sums even unaccountable.
They have been busy here too restoring over 800 detention camps for some projected purpose. The eventual takeover perhaps as the para-military is abounding all over.
