Christians need judgment day because: what's the point of being forgiven if the others aren't condemned? It's part of the penalty and reward system of western religions. We're a competitive culture -- we need to WIN; and we need to know we're winning while we're still alive, it's much more fun that way. Don't you think?
What's the point of believing in the impossible without a reward? Religion can't survive without appropriate incentives. I mean, there's a lot of religions out there; a lot of competition. It's hard to know which one to chose without a marketing ploy of some sort.

Firs there need to be corrections in some precepts... Sin is not pardoned, a ransom sacrifice is what Christ laid out. Though a ransom is a price paid to buy back for the thing Adam threw away... perfection. Now God does reserve the right to fulfill "HIS" original purpose for the Earth. To fill the Earth with a perfect garden, to fill the Earth with faithful worshippers of "Him and Him alone" There are sore of two judgement days, because those killed off by armageddon will not be ressurected as best I understand it. The judgement is so that the 1000 year reign give everyone and opportunity to come to an accurate knowledge of Jehovah God, and his Son Jesus Christ, and choose to serve him, and live forever, or walk away and eventually die. Though I realize I could go through all the scriptures that I want to site, but My meds are kicking in harder then I thought they would, so I may edit my answer later

Need for Judgment - Luke 13:5 "...But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
Matthew 9:12-13 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Cremation - Matthew 24:30-31 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
For more look in the concordance in the back of your bible. or go to bible.com and do some searches. God doesn't care if you are cremated. Judgment is for those who do not repent they will be sent to Hell. Spend some time in the new testament and you will find all the answers you are looking for and then some. God Bless and feel free to email me if you want more help.

You have to repent and be baptised if you want salvation...unbelievers are not pardoned,,they will be judged and have eternal punishment....
1Thes 4:13-18 "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
What happens to unbelivers::::::
the worst aspect of the Christian judgement is that some folks will be cast into hell forever. For instance:
Revelation 20:11-15
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works... And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Hell. Eternal hell.

The forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ is a gift of God. (Romans 6:23) It implies therefore, that it is up to the person whether he will accept the gift or not. If a person rejects the gift, then it only means that he won't be able to use it. It is right that Jesus already paid for sin, but it also means that we should come to Jesus and acknowledge what He has done. Not doing so means we don't accept His gift. So it means when judgment day comes, God won't pardon us because it is us who chose to reject the means of his forgiveness which is what Jesus did.

Too late to look up verses, sorry, but if you want to read my biblical explanation, great. Judgment for sins is the Great White Throne Judgment and is at the end of the 1000 yr Millenial reign of Jesus on this earth (restored). It is ONLY for the unsaved (nonchristians). We christians are forgiven as you say and therefore have no judgement day for our sins, BUT we do have The Bema Judgment Seat of Christ where we will be judged for our works and are given crowns or lose crowns according to what we did for Christ while on earth. Hope this helps. God bless

There will be different judgements.
There wil be a judgement for non believers. This will deal with their wrong doing and their unbelief in God.
Then there is judgment for believers. This judgement will be based more on the believer's lifestyle in what he or she did for Christ and how they used what God gave them. An accountability judgement if you will. It is based on the obedience more then the sin because the believer is covered by the blood of Jesus Christ because the believer chooses to be covered by the blood.

The bible can't provide the type of specific information you want, because it was never intended to do such a thing.
Jesus founded a church ... not a bible ... and he gave power and authority to his living church ... not a "dead" holy book.
Jesus founded one authentic church.
He authorized IT, eternally guaranteed IT, and empowered IT to lead all men to salvation in his grace.
The church remains as the sole governing authority for all Christians, and when Judgment Day comes, all will be judged by Christ according to their faithful obedience to that one church, which has Jesus as it's head, and the Holy Spirit as the arbiter of all divine truth.
As for your faulty premise that all sins are pardoned before the believer dies ... remember to tell that to Jesus when you stand before him in judgment.
He may have a few issues to discuss with you.

Right. Sins are pardoned, but salvation requires the acceptance of that free gift on the part of individuals. Judgment day is the reckoning of how we have accepted or denied God's gift of salvation in Jesus.
