It is much more important to be a good person. Do you really think that a perfect god is so self-centered and egocentric that he wants us to worship him? No, I'm sure that if he exists he just wants us to be happy and to be a good and moral person.

It is not important to have faith in God then to be a Good person. Being Good person is important then any other thing.

umm... what will help you live longer here and not somewhere you don't really know will be there?
Being a good person will improve the quality of life for both the Christian and otherwise non-Christian. Having faith in a god can be another story. Having faith that said god will forgive you- no matter what you do- can be not so good for those who do like their "Earthly Lives" if the concept is taken wrong... not good when that person believes that killing for said god is a straight ticket to the desireable afterlife with promise of good things vs. bad horrible disturbing things where people are violently tortured and burned for all eternity... sounds like a scare tactic to me. I think- in some cases... dare I say MANY cases, having faith in a god could be a BAD thing.

Your question is quite interesting and however quite complex... As you see you are only looking for one awnser, Wich is more important, Faith in God or Being a good person...
To be able to awnser "a Good person" I would ask on behalve of whos moral standards? Yours or the bibles?
To be able to awnser "Faith in God" I would have to ask, following the below bible scriptures, or according to whos point of view regarding faith?
Hebrews11:1 Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.
Hebrews 11:6 Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please [him] well, for he that approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.
James 2:26 Indeed, as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

Well, honestly, I believe that by being a good person, you are caring for others and yourself, and therefore respecting God.
Which to I believe is more important?
I rather know someone who is a good person than know someone who has faith in God. I know lots of bad Christians, lots of good Christians, tons of awesome atheists, and I know a few rotten atheists, too.
Good people keep all the other people from shooting themselves and the cat.

By "being a good person" are you really asking about a person who does good things? A person can do all the "good deeds" in the world but still not give a rip about God. And if that person's heart is not transformed by God, if they do not have their sins canceled and so obtain and become the righteousness of God, nothing they do will matter or last in the end. But if a person has true and transforming faith in God that radically changes their life and makes them like Him, then good things will follow. But just doing "good deeds" won't cut it in the end--and assuming you're asking this question from a Biblical perspective, the Bible is clear that we cannot become righteous by anything we do, but only by grace alone through faith in Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
AG, there's no such thing as a "bad Christian"--if a person claims to be a Christian but isn't living a Christ-like life, then they are just bad actors, not real Christians. Anyone can claim they're a Christian, but if they aren't emulating Christ, then they aren't His follower at all.

I believe that being a good person is the more imperative of the two. many who have faith in God have committed unspeakable acts and thought because they are faithful they are good!
Even the Bible portrays something similar. Jesus was crucified by people that thought they were faithful and good. And Jesus being a good person said Forgive them for they know not what they do!

Being a good person is more important to me. Because in the end, it is our actions and not our words that will show whether one truly believes in a Deity.
How many people do you know that claim to believe in 'God and yet, they are greedy (they don't give to the homeless or the poor,) they commit adultery, they gossip, they judge, they steal, they envy, etc, etc. In short, they don't live the teachings of Christ, but yet, they claim to beleive in him? Do you honestly think that their faith in God is going to overshadow their actions? That they are somehow going to get "into Heaven" because they believe, but they might have been the most horrendour person that you think of?
Actions speak louder than words... You can claim to believe in God, but unless the life you live reflects that, then it's all a mute point. Therefore, being a good person is more important.

Both are important, yet having faith in God is the intent of...
Exodus 20: 3 "You shall have no other gods before [a] me.
the very first commandment.
This is the Word of God, so it is our responsibility to obey it.
It is also important to be a good person. In Proverbs 22, it teaches us...
Proverbs 22
1 A good name is more desirable than great riches;
to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
So, we are on a track of honor and glory by building a good name amongst others and pleasing the Lord.
But, as long as we place God first in our lives, He will deliver to us what we need to live in HIs kingdom. We will find work, friendship, happiness, love and peace if we have faith in Him.
If we live as He expects us to, we will be as good a person as can be expected. So, let's do our best!
Peace be with you

I think faith in God is important for your salvation. But being a good person comes with the grace with in you. What is the use of being mean, and bad, etc. I try to be good, it gives me a lift to help others, and compliment others.

The two are neither directly related or mutually exclusive,Having said that,it would be prudent to go for a tangible, known and a visible aspect like being a good person[what ever that means] than for an abstract idea like faith in God.
