What you have said has to be the most idiotic statement ever. I do believe that we do need to send our troops home because personally I have brothers in the war, but they are fighting for what America stands for: TO SPREAD DEMOCRACY TO THE MIDDLE EAST. I'm sorry if you're offended but you have to do more research things on the things you say. If you didn't notice, there's still resistance in Iraqi soil where terrorist are bombing troops, so the war can't be over. We actually haven't won, this war is win-less no matter how we look at it. American families are going to miss troops no matter what the situation. But to put this into perspective, this war has had the fewest number of casualties in American HISTORY. And you're plan doesn't work as simple as you say it can. We can't nuke whatever country we feel like because we have to live by the standards and morals that we want to project to OTHER nations. If we nuked Iraq what will North Korea think? "That it's OKAY to use weapons of mass destruction." Hell no! The biggest thing that you said that I really disagree is "Anyone who forces them to stay over seas and fight a war that people no longer understand are terrorists," I think you need to watch videos of REAL terrorist and what they do to our troops once they're captured and you'll understand what a terrorist is. Sorry if you're offended, but watch more televison and read newspapers and get educated on whats happening. You'll better understand these topics.

First off the Taliban are still around, just not in power anymore. As for the war being over, Bush intentionally choose Terrorism to declare war on, because as long as there is anybody disgruntled about anything there will be terrorists, so he has created the perfect no win war, he though being a war time president would legitimize his presidency, which it hasn't, its made it more of a joke. As for using Nukes, you've got to be joking, you can't incinerate large areas of civilian populations to get one bastard who if you can keep in hiding long enough will drop dead due to kidney failure. In WWII we dropped two bombs on japan doing higher damage and casualties to civilian targets for single attacks than had ever been recorded before or since, since then the US military has taken on a policy of more strategic and accurate strikes instead of area bombing, which only makes us look bad, when the target were aiming for is hardly effected in comparison to the area around the target. Plain and simply put were stuck there because there is no true definition of a way out set, and the congress doesn't have the balls enough to force the president to take the troops out by just cutting off the war funding..

I don't know why people have to be so mean when someone ask a question. I do agree with some people "we have not won the war" but all of America's soldiers stay and fix what they have destroyed. what people don't read or hear about is the schools, electric, water , and bridges that the soldiers are building. The soldiers know full well that this war was not going to be won overnight and they understand that. Yes it is terrifying to families back home but they have a job to do and it is not up to the soldiers to ask "why, when, and where" all they do is to a job that they are told to do and come home when they are told to do. The war is not over by any means and it is not going to be over for awhile. They are not forcing them to stay overseas. They signed a contract and they have to honor that contract. 90% of all soldiers are reenlisting and they are re-enlisting OVERSEAS.

We haven't won yet until the Iraqi people are able to defend themselves. If we left now and took all of our troops out of Iraq , it would just become a huge breeding ground for terrorists. We have to get rid of the Taliban still and protect future generations from having to deal with what we're dealing with now. You shouldn't make comments about stuff that you have no clue about. You should actually talk to people that are there or have been there.

Fortunately, or not, you don't set policy the President does. He feels the troops are still needed there, so they stay. As far as being over seas, you do know that most all military, at war or not, spend a significant amount of time overseas.

Wow. You've really thought this one out. And to think all the politicians & military commanders didn't think of it first. Kudos.
