Since the beginning of known history, Religion in nearly all its forms, has cost an incalculable number of human lives over time. If almost all religions claim spirituality and goodness and triumph over evil, doesn't it seem odd that so much pain can come from something that is supposed to be inherently good? Human fault may be to blame, and probably is in most cases, but what IF there is something more complex to it all. Evil is enticing in all its forms, Lucifer is said to be the most beautiful and God's favorite angel. There is no doubt that he is clever. Confusion and chaos, anarchy, these are his tools. Nothing creates more personal, or societal, confusion than religion. Coincidence? You tell me...

Man created religion to explain the things he could not...religion created Satan...Henry David Thoreau once said that "If God doesn't exist, man would find need to create him" (he also said It makes sense to believe in God - if he doesn't exist and you believe, it doesn't matter. But if he does exist and you don't believe, you're in trouble) - I don't believ, by the way...

Did the satan create religion? Yes! Mankind invented all kinds of religions so mankind would have something to worship, argue over and kill for! Mankind's Creator has no desire or need for a religion. Mankind has many ugly faces. Three of the ugliest are Judaism, Christianity and Islam. But each think theirs are most beautiful, like shinning angels, and the other's all ugly and wicked.

God created everything, including Satan. But Satan does and has controlled religion as long as there has been religion, with the exception of the first century church. (But Satan was always on the attack)
Nothing controls or manages people quite like religion. This is why governments of the world have employed it since it has been in existence. And since Satan was given the reins of the world, he took control of religions. He was responsible for all the ancient pagan religions and their gods, like Molech, Astarte, Milcom, Chemosh. But then as societies evolved, so did Satan's religions. The God of the Hebrews was gaining much respect, so Satan had to get onthe bandwagon, so he helped create Judaism. And shortly after Christ left the scene, Satan helped himself to a little more of God's notoriety, and created the catholic church. And it went on from there....

well i am a Christian but i have to say that i loathe religion. religion and Christianity don't mix well at all. when it becomes religion you get stuff like the crusades, Jones town, and other terrible things. i would say that there may be something to your theory. religion is about rules and regulations. someone has to be in charge of those rules and regulations; a religious leader. when you have power over stuff like that you want more and more power (if you give in to that temptation). since that is a form of lust, which really is the root of all sin, and we became sinful after the fall of Adam and Eve, and the fall was caused because satan tempted them to eat of the tree of knowledge and they disobeyed God and ate of it, i guess in a round-about way you could trace it to satan. satan caused us to be sinful, lust is sin, powertripping comes from lust (for power). and i must inform the other poster- God did not created religion. read the bible. man created religion. God just wanted a relationship- so much so that he came down here and died for want of it.

if you see what's happenning around these days, the answer to the question will definetly be YES without any doubt. before I continue further, I like to say something: I just read Forever you by T L Rampa. If you read this book he explains something about human being that we are the replica of the universe in miniature.
I personally think that this is true and if you want to explain this to someone illiterate he definetly not understand anything.
that's why the people who knew this and experience this very long ago just said to the people to believe in God without giving any explanation.

I once asked a similiar questions. If God created the earth then did satan create humans since we seem to be so good at destroying the earth. If I wasn't an athiest then I would think satan created humans.

The aspect of religion that we know on Earth has been created by man. It's a manmade institution. The wars like Crusades and things like the inquisition were brought about by man.
Man always takes God's work and screws it up somehow!

You know, what you have said here, really makes alot of sense. Religions of any kind, seem to cause division, rebellion and just plain hatefullness. That is exactly what Satan likes. The way the world is now, is a perfect example.

No it was started by the angels Creator worship and before the Luciferian rebellion.
His earthly influence did not start til then. This rebellion was just before Adam and Eve showed up on Earth. There were many people before them that the bible does not talk about.
