once again. BALANCE is not mentioned.
Why, oh Why? Why is drunkenness a sin when there is fermenting proccess?
Why was there a tree as the tale is told that was forbidden. Perhaps this "God" likes to see the human race fail over and over again?
This "god" never says anything about balance.
Balance is displayed in nature. Not too much of one thing or another.
Balance is required.
Alcohol is not a sin. The fact that people get drunk, shows that they are unbalanced within their life. Everything in monderation.

Drinking in itself is not a sin, becoming drunk is. Many people seem to think the only reason to drink is to become drunk. Moderation is key. If a person can not drink w/ out getting drunk, they should NOT drink. Also, God allows us freedom of choice. He put that tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden b/c he wanted us to stay free of sin by CHOICE, not because we had no opportunity to sin.
Also, water was not always potable at the time alcohol was first discovered. Fermenting killed anything that might make us sick. Although, of course, too much drink can also make us sick.

Because he has said drinking is not a sin but drinking in excess is.

God gave man the ability to ferment fruit for wine for religious ceremonies but man went to far with it, no God.

Sorry to say this, but there is a logical fallacy implicit in your question. God created many, many things that could conceivably be used for our own physical and spiritual harm. We can be gluttonous with food, we can be slothful with our rest, we can be idolatrous toward things of the earth, etc etc. That is the definition of "sin" -- to take the things God has given us as a gift, and allow the Enemy to tempt us to misuse them and set our hearts away from God.

Alcohol was created for us to drink, but getting drunk is different from merely drinking wine with dinner. Most of the wine from the Old Testament was heavily watered down anyways; very different from wine today. So the lack of logic in your question comes down to the assumption that If something exists, and If something can cause us to sin, than somehow it was unjust for God to create it. If that is your logic, anything could be considered unjust on the part of God's creation. Sex, food, money, land and relationships.

It is written that wine is a gift from God. Drunkenness is a state of loss of control, and that loss of control has lead many astray into immorality, and even murder. Since it was important to God that people not go around getting drunk and commiting every form of Badness he spoke out about drunkeness (drinking to excess).

Gee, I don't know. If beating someone to death with a hocky stick is a sin, why would God allow trees to grow that could be made into hocky sticks?????

When God created, He looked at what He had created, "and saw that it was GOOD". Sin is the abuse of that which is fundamentally good.

While drunkenness is a sin, enjoying a drink or two is not.

its the same as when the apostle paul commented on the importance of money- remember it was the "LOVE" of money- not money itself, which was ascribed to be the root of all evil. therfore it is the "ABUSE" of alcohol, (over indulgence) not the casual use of alcohol which is forbidden. One of Jesus' miracles was to transform water into wine. The fermentation Process is fully condoned by God, just dont over do it.

God allows us to make up our own minds.

Murder is a sin also, but God made us all with two hands that can murder. And steal.

He put a tounge in our mouths that can also cause us to sin.
