It would, most likely, do nothing. However, if you have roots that are your natural color, they would turn orange.

I've been a color specialist for 10 years- please trust me when I tell you to take it back to the store, get a refund, and save up to get a professional color coversion-- IF you really really want a "golden brown." Sun-in is primarily citric acid and peroxide- both of which are lighteners-- no toning whatsoever. Lifting layers of brown color molecules leaves red behind- and you really, really don't want orange hair.

Please feel free to email me if you want a li'l more guidance. I've had to fix too many "Sun-in" mishaps. The only time it's any good at all is on naturally light hair.

good luck!

None of the answers you've received so far have any idea what they are talking about. Sun In is just a mild bleach. Most hairstylists won't apply bleach over bleached hair because it can seriously damage your hair. Especially if your hair condition is already compromised. Try talking to some more Colourists and see what other options you are given. Make sure you are going to trained professionals. It will cost more, but it will be worth it. Without seeing and touching your hair and knowing what your desired end result is, I can't really give you any solid options. But you might be a good candidate for low lights (to break up the solid blonde on the bottom) and a high light touch up. A stylist who gives you no options is either lazy or inexperienced and uneducated.

You should go to a salon if you want this done and get some advice from them. The Sun In products might turn your hair green. If you want all over golden brown, go with a permanent colour that is a light brown.
I've died my hair red in the past and put a few boxes of blonde dye in my hair to get it back to blonde. Just wait for a week after the initial colouring to see if you like it and to prevent damage to your hair and scalp.

The product is like bleaching your hair. It wouldn't make your hair a golden brown. It would put orange streaks in your hair.

I would take it back. You might get orange hair from it.

Take it back. It is not worth the risk. It is certain to turn an orangish hue.
