Hi ... my son is turning 3 next month and I need some ideas for a neat party. We did Chuckie Cheese last year and any suggestions other than Mr. Cheese would be great. I am looking for places not themes.
Thanks.

For the last two years, 3rd and 4th parties, my daughter wanted to go to a "jumping place". You know those places with all the blow up things. She LOVES it. The ones in this area all have little party rooms too, so you would have an area for your party as well.

Another idea...at the gymnastics place we go to, you can have parties there. I'm not sure how much they cost, but they have all sorts of fun toddler stuff. You could check into gyms that offer classes for 3 year olds and ask if they offer parties.

Our other birthday treat is going to toys-r-us. They'll say Happy Birthday, "Jason" over the intercom. Somehow, it's very exciting.

What about a local nature center or aquarium?

So many choices! Keep it simple and have fun!

How about a park district gym? Our park district has different themed parties. We have a ball party - a bunch of foam and inflatable balls in a gym. Or try a place that teaches gymnastic. Boys that age love to tumble and it's all padded! Indoor inflatable jumping places are great. We had a place near us that sold those wooden outdoor playsets. They would rent out their indoor showroom for parties.

We went to a place called Pump It Up for a birthday party a few months back. It was great fun for people of all ages.

Also, see if there is a Great Wolf Lodge in your area. I think they might accomodate birthday parties as well.

Here is the websites. Have fun! :)

do you have incredible pizza where you live? ive taken both my daughter and my brother there, and they loved it! even the adults love it ;) if not, how about your local zoo? most zoos have birthday packages. they might be a little expensive, so it could be a good idea to have dinner/lunch at home or a cheap resturant, and then head to the zoo. or your local amusement park. kids are easily amused so it doesnt have to be anything TOO big. :) i hope it helps!
