Alright, this guy i've been dating for awhile, really had his heart broken. Every other girl has played him and hurt him. (Which men have done the same to me)
He now says that relationships are pointless and you "set yourself up for failure".
How do you convince someone that your not out to hurt them? That it's not a good way to live your life running like that?

Be a very good friend to him and draw close to him. Be loyal and show your feelings for him that you love him.....
Be there for him.....

If he's not willing to give you the benefit of the doubt why are you wasting your time? Everytime you fight he will bring up the past and throw it in your face how you are just like "such and such" when you said you'd be different. He's got too much emotional baggage and negativity. Go find a guy who will give you the relationship you deserve.

Girl friend this guy is clearly not ready for another relationship.I think you should perhaps give him some space to sort himself out.Is he dating you on the rebound? He obviously is numb to his present relationship with you otherwise he wouldn't have made such a remark.You seem like a patient girl but you can't allow yourself to be dragged along like this,give him some space-he needs it!

Some people have to learn that on their own...you can talk to him til you blue in the face but what he believes is what he believes. Eventually he'll want to try again but until then let him be.

take it slow and remember that actions speak louder than words. always tell him how much you care for him...but more importantly, SHOW him that you care and won't cheat on him or anything. treat him like gold and be affectionate and don't cheat. you'll probably earn his trust eventually.
