This is his first night without, and I think he is going through withdrawls. Is there anything I can do to make him more comfortable?

Here is what I suggest to get you over the worst part of the withdrawals.

To help with the withdrawals take hot bathes with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. The skin is the biggest organ of elimination and this will help pull out the drugs. Use a loofa to clean the pores and this will help pull the drugs out even faster.

I recommend you drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day and 2c. a day of fresh carrot juice, to flush the medicine out of your liver. Taking 500mg of calcium and magnesium twice a day will help you to relax.

Drink chamomile tea throughout the day and evening to help you stay relaxed.

Use a powdered fiber supplement twice daily to pull the drugs out of your intestines where they store.

Two of the questionnaires in this forum did follow this program to withdraw from drugs and it did help. I've enclosed a link where you can read their response to this program.

2 months is enough time to have withdrawl symptoms. I guess the next question is how much He was taking during those 2 months. By using the standard Rx of 1 every 4-6 hours as needed for pain, He shouldn't be going through too much withdrawl, maybe a few days of stomach cramps, sweating, and difficulity sleeping. However, if He was using a higher dose, which is easy to do with this Medication because tolerance develops quickly, your bf could be in for a roller-coaster ride for several days or more. Remember, everybody is different in how they process Narcotics. The worst of the withdrawl symptoms seems to come from the lack of sleep. Nobody dies from lack of sleep, and narcotic withdrawl is painful, but you won't die from it. Withdrawl from benzo's and barbituates is much worse and really dangerous and should be done Medically.
Back to the Percocet, the best you can do is reassure him that it will pass, and that it is totally normal to go through this.
I would suggest Benadryl for sleep. It works excellent in helping you sleep. I don't recommend these "herbal" sleep stuff floating around at your local health food store. I don't think they work. The other option (and the best option), is to talk to the Doctor who prescribed them and see what He says. However, if He offers you a tranquilizer or a sleep medication, make sure it's only enough to get you through the rough times of the withdrawl. Maybe a few days worth at most. Thing is, these meds are highly addictive as well. If it were me, I would stick to the Benedryl. I wish you both well.

I would give him half of one. It's not good to go off after two months.

i know its hard to go through withdraws, but its better than not. try to make sure he has something for a upset stomach and give him something to help him sleep. one day at a time. good luck i hope he makes it, but be forgiving if he don't and help again.

Don't annoy him or make him angry.
