it has never been proven, and children have died from the chelation process. I would focus on therapy, not a "cure". We don't even know what causes it, much less what will cure it.

That sounds like quackery. Chelation is used for heavy metal poisoning...by what mechanism could it possibly "cure" autism? It has a number of possible unpleasant side effects.

It can also be dangerous when administered by untrained people. A young autistic boy died after chelation therapy, as he was given the wrong agent...and agent that the CDC stated no trained medical professional would ever use for chelation because of the danger.

I'm not sure about this but I'm into naturopathic medicine & I've heard many good things about chelation. I know it purifies the blood & is supposed to be really good for cancer. I would visit a certified naturopathic doctor or bring whomever needs the treatment. Naturopathic medicine focuses on healing the person as a whole & not pumping them full of prescription drugs to mask the symptoms.

No. You can have your pediatritian do blood test to see if there are any high levels of anything. Then look at your options with him. I hope you can come to accept your child the way they are, cause there is no cure for autism. You can help them in many ways though. Best wishes to you both
