Works that have eternal value.
1 Corinthians 3:12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw-- 13 each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

I believe your motives cause your works to stand or perish before the Lord. I also believe that every Christian who walks well with the Lord, who reads the bible, prays on a daily basis, who loves the Lord and God's people will be full of good fruits and good works. I think that scripture can be misconstrued by some that we Christians need to focus on works. All Paul is saying there is what James said, faith without works is useless.

Quality, not necessarily quantity. It is a matter of the heart, what is your motivation? Do you do good works to get noticed, so people will see what a good Christian you are? Then you got your reward. Rather, seek to do good to those who cannot repay you, do your good works quietly, seeking to be Christ to those around you. Then, what you have done in the quiet, will be rewarded by Christ at the judgment. Who will get the better reward, the one who raises large sums of money for some earthly cause, and makes sure everyone knows he did it, or the one who stoops down to help someone sleeping on the street, to give them some food, talk with them, give them a shred of their dignity back?

I just wonder what you are trying to say by this question. It is the goodness of God that leads people to repentance NOT the judgement of God! I have found that the more I humble myself and be kind, caring and show people how much I love them that God can shine thru me. Perfect I certainly am not, but I thank God for His grace and mercy toward me. He has extended his hand of compassion to me therefore I must extend my hand in compassion to others not judgement!
Paul could have said to those folks who were worshiping the unknown god that they were worshiping idols but instead he took the opportunity to turn their ignorance into an enlightening experience and they gladly gave their hearts and lives to Christ.
Once I had an 8year old little boy who I was transporting home on my bus. He attended a religious school of a faith that I was raised under and have long since left. There was a holiday that was coming up that they celebrate. I could have capitalized on the erronious meaning of this holiday but instead I, like Paul took the opportunity to bring a little boy into the kingdom of God! It is one of my most glorious memories. It is an awesome experience to reach into someone's life with the love of God and see God just melt their hearts and birth them into His presence!

A better word for judgment seat like the one you are asking about would be Bema....... It would be like the seat a judge sets on during a tennis match that calls the hits...... Paul wrote a lot about the olympics and that would be the word he would have used........ and, I believe if one of does a work for our own recognition that would be an example of perish, we would in fact loose a reward..... but all true works done for the *glory* of our heavenly Father, those would all earn us our rewards............... God bless

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
I have used the above verse as a sword to cut unbelievers arguments regarding evolution; our pastor has forewarned us that God knows the intents of OUR HEARTS as we speak to unbelievers. Is our motivaton to win an argument and damn the unbelieving soul? Is our conversation as with salt to flavor the meat, or are we treating the unbelievers as with battery acid?
God knows our motivations as surely as he knows the unbelievers. We need to earnestly desire to win souls, not win arguments. What is our real motivation for being on Yahoo!?
I have been a Christian since I was a child, and I am 49 years old. I am a construction worker, but I know the Bible well enough to make some pastors look silly. This is not my intention, we have our marching orders:
2Ti 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Many times, leading a lost soul to christ is like selling a big ticket item. The Holy Spirit does the work of conviction, and people are ready to receive, BUT they have their own objections to overcome. There is a book written by an investigative journalist who was skeptical of the EXISTENCE of Christ and everything Christ did; he set out like a criminal investigator to discover evidence for Christ. His name is Lee Stroebel, and the book he wrote is called The Case for Christ. Lee Stroebel actually changed his mind, heart, and profession. He became a minister. This man's life is a powerful testimony, and we as Christians have many such tools at our fingertips.
I have given this book away several times to people asking questions about God. I do not always know the outcome, but I am confident that seeds have been planted.

I evaluate judgment something that one and all will journey. no person is going to be an exception. As a believer i understand Christ will choose me in accordance to my faith and how I lived by using the observe. reliable or undesirable, i'm going to be judged. As a follower of Christ the commonly used concentration of my existence is to love God thoroughly and love others (as He loves me) so He gets the honor. on an identical time i understand that i would be dealing with judgment while the time comes so i attempt to stay a existence it extremely is eye-catching to God. Do I continuously get it outstanding? of direction not. through fact of this i'm grateful for the conviction of the Holy Spirit and His education. Why i'm grateful for Christ's sacrifice and our relationship. Why i'm grateful for God's observe, love, grace and mercy. definite, i'm going to be forgiven yet that doesn't recommend I won't could answer for each thing i've got achieved. that's a delusion to think of i'm in simple terms domicile loose. God is the suitable choose of who's "in" and who's "out." that's a risky pastime guy performs attempting to ascertain the judgments for himself. His techniques at the instant are not our techniques, His recommendations at the instant are not our recommendations. we could continuously concentration on eye-catching Him quite than guessing His will or plans. "For we could all look earlier the judgment seat of Christ, that one and all might get carry of what's due him for the failings achieved whilst interior the physique, despite if reliable or undesirable." -2 Corinthians 5:10 the two way i'm going to get what's coming to me. that's a sprint frightening through fact like I reported, I decrease to rubble. I stumble. nonetheless, my wish is in Christ. i understand He loves me and His grace is sufficient. I in simple terms wish i'm going to be waiting to respond to for all of the failings i've got achieved as a believer: the reliable, the undesirable and the grotesque! Peace. :)

Why do Christians always put Paul's opinions before Christs teachings--??? Paul was a woman hating self-confessed murderer--yet Christians always use Paul's rants to justify their own condemnation of others--its just pathetic.
