my best friend and i dated, he broke up with me, and we're still best friends to this day without any of those awkward feelings. he tells me about his love life and i tell him about mine. i love that we can still be completely honest with each other like we did when we dated yet can still be friends.

You know, it's funny that you ask such a question as this has been on my mind lately. I am engaged to be married next month and love my fiance with all my heart, but in the back of my mind I still have this little curiosity about how my first love is doing.
The thing is, I am not referring to my first love, but rather my first REAL love. I am sure everyone will understand this thought...
Anyway, as for my first love, yes I am over her. I was 17 and have changed so much since then. But, like I said, my first REAL love will always have a small place in my mind that I may drift to every now and again.

I hope when i do, that they're THE one, so i'll never want to get over them.
I think it depends on their experience they had with their first love. Everyone wants their first to be amazing, and like the movies. It doesn't always turn out that way, so i'm sure it's easy to get over your first, if nothing really 'romantic' or memorable really happened. But if your first was decent, and everything you hoped for, then i'm sure you do, but you'll always remember them and have a place in your heart for them.
And hopefully, if it was ment to be, you'll meet them again in the future and spend your life together!

Well I'm 42 and still think about my first love from time to time. But yes, in a way you do. As soon as you find a TRUE love! It just becomes a sweet memory after a while.

Sure. It takes a while. I have found that I am over my first love. I don't love her anymore, though I still care about her and always will. I've long ago moved on romantically.

well for me i act like i have but i didnt. if u do it takes a lot of time and for me a little bit more guys to help u get over it.but if u truly loved that person then it would be really hard to do
