Yes, I think you should.
Girls Wrestling in high school is becoming more and more common. Wrestling for both boys and girls is surprisingly big in Southern Maine. There are many girls that not only compete with the boys but have been highly ranked in the State.
The most recent was a local girl named Deanna Rix from Marshwood High who lost 1-0 in the Maine State title match at 125lb. I hear that she is still wrestling....

You are only young once so I would look at it objectively and based on that decide if my reasons for trying wrestling were valid and if I wanted to cut out TKD during the wrestling season. The reason why I say that is wrestling is one of the most demanding sports I ever did or have ever done along with competing in karate and fighting full contact. My workouts in football, and track were cake walks compared to wrestling. I daresay that after your wrestling workouts and homework you will not have any energy or strength left for TKD. Not only that but you also have the added thing of cutting or making weight that saps some of your strength and energy on a weekly basis. As for going down in weight all wrestlers do. Most states require you be weighed at the beginning of the season and then limit how far you can go down and wrestle at in competition.
I would also talk to the wrestling coach about this if you decide you want to and he can probably give you a better ideal on whether or not you may have to temporarily give up TKD.

I think you should try it out. The season only lasts a few months and you'll learn things you won't learn in your dojang.
Very few people are ever good at wrestling without spending hundreds of hours on the mat so I wouldn't wait for next year.
As for your weight, there is a complex system of measuring your hydration and body fat that is now in place so you will be told what weight you should be wrestling at.

You should focus on taekwondo. Not only will it serve you better than wrestling but it's great for the spirit.

If your intrested in Grappling it's a GREAT IDEA. Basicelly Free instruction on the basics of Grappling is something you should not pass up if you want to learn how to grapple.
But don't do it just because you hear that you have to learn inorder to be a real martial artist. While in a way that is true if your not intrested in it you won't really learn anything anyway.
But like I said if your intrested in learning Grappling it is a great idea.

yes, do it, it will only help you improve your MMA skills. Taekwondo won't get you a scholorship into college. You can take some time to do this and go back to your full TKD schedule after the season.

I don't know. But if it comes down to a decision between wrestling and Tae Kwon Do, I think that you should go with Tae Kwon Do.
