Well, I never thought I wanted any! But we just had our first pregnancy, twin girls, and now that I see how fast they are growing, I am already wanting more. Plus we both want a big family, due to the fact that we are both from small families. Sometimes I think, how do we do it now!!!! But then I think we could easily add more and be fine! We definitely want at least 4, maybe more. How? Good question, lol. I think we just find a way to handle it one day at a time. I have talked to a lot of women with more than 5, and some days they don't know how they do it! I am kind of hoping for more multiples, so I don't have to go through as many pregnancies!! LOL.
It is a lot of work, taking care of the girls, but totally worth it! And after having two at once, one baby would feel like a breeze. And as far as expenses, now that we have two, I thinkn adding a couple more wouldn't be so hard! We already have a lot of what we need- carseats, cribs, bassinets, clothes, and really what is a few more diapers in the big scheme of things! We just take it one day at a time, and I am a big bargain shopper! That helps a lot.
So as far as how many, who knows, but we are trying for more. 2 down, 2 more to go, maybe more! We will see! We will take whatever we are blessed with. :-)

I want 3 kids (two boys and one girl, lol) I could not handle 5 kids. I am 19 and I have a 15 year old brother, 11 year old sister and a 3 year old brother....my house is crazy!! Unless you are organized and can handle all the work then I would say 5 kids is insane. My stepmom is too good at handling the kids, but it is a lot of work

i used to want 4 children, but i kinda started late - i had my first at age 32 and am pregnant with my 2nd at age 33/4.
Before i had my daughter, i wanted about 4-5 kids, but having had my child, i now realise what hard work it is maintaining a household, nurturing and giving quality time to my daughter. I was a career girl before i got pregnant, and all of that has been sacrificed for my child, but at some point i wish to have a career again. If i were to have more children i think my career, and the welfare of the 2 children I DO have might be compromised. The more children I have, the less would be able to give my children financially. But i am not averse to one more child i.e. 3 in total, but equally i could quite happily stop at two.

Having had my daughter i am not sure if i could cope with 5 - mostly because i cant deal with the mess. Tidying up after one is hard enough!!
Having said that, i come from a family of 6 kids myself - i love coming from a big family, i just couldnt manage a large one myself!

I have a 16 month old boy. I'd like to have one more (hopefully a girl) when he's about 3. My hubby wants 3 kids though. It's a possibility. I don't want to have more than 3. I don't want my kids to wear all hand-me-downs and not be able to go on family vacations or take them out to eat because things cost too much. I would never ever want 5 kids. It's okay for some people but not for me. It's too expensive to have that many. Who can buy 5 cars or pay for 5 college tuitions?

I have 2, but in 3 to four years I would like to try for another one, and no more.
I don't think I could handle five or more children, it's hard enough with two, specially since my husband almost NEVER helps me, so it get a little stressful. But once my two kids are older, and in school, I do want another one.

3.... not 5+ b/c I will want to do other things with my life than parenting forever. However, big families are a lot of fun... maybe I would change my mind after the first 3 and keep going...... I have an open mind, so I would make the decision at that point in time.

I could not handle 5 kids! I have 2 girls that are mine and we are raising a 12 year old boy(daughters boyfriend) due to horrific family and past.

2, have them already. No, I could not handle 5+ kids. I can hardly manage the two I have and it would be too much of a financial strain. I don't agree with having children unless you can support them yourself, no welfare or food stamps.
