I might be moving there, and I'm very excited.....bur also nervous! I would love to live there, because it seems so exciting and fun! On the other hand, I don't want to because of how crowded it is, it seems very racially divided, and expensive. How are the people there? Is it really as dangerous as it's portrayed? What nationality has the most people living there?

It Amazing!!! I Love it, i wish i could move there.
It's a busy place & crowded but i went on holiday there from a small town so it seems mental to me. But once i got used to it, you can get around really quick on foot & the amount of people doesn't bother you.
All the people i met there were extremely lovely and very helpful! Didn't come across one nasty person...well actually yes i did in a Mall an old woman was screaming at someone to F off. But that was just amusing!
It's not dangerous at all! I felt so safe, it is advertised as bad & dangerous but it really isn't! It does have it's crimes, but while i was over there, there wasn't any! Police are everywhere so you feel safe all the time!
The people are mixed i'd say more white people. But i'm places like Queens they are Spanish-Americans [Like the people from ugly Betty =D]
Have a great time living there =] x

All nationalities are here. Yes it's very expensive for the most part but it also depends on what your doing. New York in general is not too dangerous but then again there are some bad neighborhoods as well as good. Times Suqare and Heralds Square are the most crowded areas because they're shopping areas. The subways are very crowded during Rush Hours as well as the streets (I suggest public transportation). There's always something to do here as long as you've got money in your pocket.

NYC is very fun and fast paced. There is never a dull moment when you are there. It is very expensive in most parts of manhattan, but you can find cheaper housing in jersey, bronx, queens, and brooklyn.

It is not dangerous as it used to be. It is actually one of the safest big cities in the US. Of course be careful not to stroll into the projects as there still exist some rough areas.

NYC is very diverse and people get along very well, unlike LA where there always seems to be some racial tension. BTW im moving back there in a couple of months.

MANY places are more dangerous than New York. Like Gary, Indiana, or St. Louis, Missouri. New York is not that dangerous, you just have to be careful not ot have your purse or wallet stolen. People are friendly, they are just busy and move at a quicker pace than a lot of others. It will be a fun place to live, at least for a little while, it will just be super expensive. Start saving now!

It depends on who you meet. Just don't meet the wrong people at the wrong time because there are many rude people. I think NY has a fair population of races...mostly Hispanics, Blacks, Asians and Whites. NYC is VERY crowded and yeah.. it is very expensive living in NYC, especially Manhattan.

It's not very dangerous.
There is some segregation by race and especially class, but because of population density and the subway, we spend more time in close proximity to people unlike us than the folks in most U.S. cities.
And the best-represented nationality is American.

Its' awesome.
So fast paced, everyone is in a hurry-never run out of places to eat or shop or things to do. I would never want to live there though.
Guess that's why we are all different I would love the suburbs but them the commute! Ugh!
