just curious to know what u think this is.. 2 problems..
1) i notice sometimes i feels like i have heartburn and need to puke up and only phlegm/spit comes out and i burp or belch and this makes the pain go away alittle.
sometimes eating will make my pain go, sometimes even after dinner 5 hours later i get like a taste of acid or sick in my mouth, abit like a sicky burp too.. as if the food come back up my throat.
2) i also have serious upper chest pains mostly on my left side, like a popping/sharp pain and sometimes it radiates a warm feeling across my chest to both my arms, it feels nervy... sometimes it can feel like a spasm inside that makes me jump.
i do have a abnormaly big stomach and im slim..
it could be some hernia.. GERD or reflux. i feel something is also effecting my breathing/circulation at times. also get stinging in parts of body e.g arm
the newest symptom is that im coughin alot.. and i nearly choked in my sleep, im even afraid to sleep now.
shud i go to ER again?

Rather than keep dropping in at the ER, you should set up an appointment with a gastroenterologist. The ER is really only to treat bad things so they stabilize not deal with some more chronic things on a long term basis, nor are they set up to do some of the diagnostic testing you will need. Does sound like GERD and possibly a hernia. You may need a swallowing study, possibly an upper GI as well. Your best bet for diagnosis is the GI team.

I have most of your symptoms and i have acid reflux and i use pepcid AC everyday early in the morning and do not eat until atleast 1 hour after taking it another few things may help
1-sleep with head up stack pillows and blankets up until you can get comfortable sleeping while sitting up
2-no alcohol, smoking, laying down after eating, or tomato/cranberry stuff(these are my big triggers)
3- eat small meals and dont eat fast
i mean i do all of these things and still get symptoms a lot but i used to have them a few times a day try these and if it doesnt work go to doctors but if you choke while even the pillows then i wouldnt wait thats why i had to go get it checked out because i slept without the pillows and i would wake up choking and i know its very scary but the best thing to do is try to have someone in the house with you while going through this i mean you better be safe then sorry you know well i hoped this helped good luck
PS- this is if you have reflux if it is something else these thing will not help but if your like me with no insurance you have to try a few things before rushing to the doctors but its something else you need to get help from proffesional

It's hard to say who messed up here, but it sounds like somebody sure did. About the nursing home business... hospitals will no longer keep any patients that don't actually need a medical procedure. They just can't afford to be a rehab hospital. Further, most nursing homes are no longer what they were meant to be. This kind of nursing takes a lot of time and a huge amount of money. The truth is that your mom needs a 24-hour private nurse to tend to her. I doubt that you can get this or even afford it. I know you love your mom, but the truth is she is fading and will probably never come back. There are many Seniors who opt out for forced feeding and a respirator when they can no longer care for themselves. You need to do an evaluation of what you think your mom would want in these circumstances. Also, does your mom even have mental ability to make decisions now? Sad to say, but you may be better off to take her home and call the Hospice nurses. Take her off forced food and respiration and just let her go. No, It would take a miracle for her to get any better. It's hard to say whether the surgery was just botched, or whether the patient just didn't respond. But you now must deal with the situation AS IT IS, not what you wish it was. Just love your mom while you have her, then let her go. She might be living between two worlds right now and would want to go on to the next one.

This could be a hiatal hernia. I would ask your doc about an upper gi and an egd. My father in law just found out he has this. He's tall and slim and is in very good shape. He also found out through the egd that he has acid reflux which has caused pre-cancerous cells in his stomach lining as well as an ulcer. Prevacid has been prescribed for the acid reflux. It has helped alot. He had many of the symptoms you described.
This could be serious. Get in touch with your physician.

See a doctor fast for the chest pain.
You need to stay erect for atleast 2 hours after eating. The stomach acid is leaking from around the flap that closes in your stomach. Use anti acids but don't over eat and stay erect for 2 hours after eating. The seal will heal in a few days or weeks.
Watch out for eating spicey foods if you were not raised on them from childhood.

Sounds like our old friend GERD . I use 1 teaspoon baking soda with a 4 oz glass of warm water taken orally and then stand for 5 minutes to expel the gasses from your stomach.
Makes my whole body feel better.

I would try to get an appointment in the Rochester MN medical facility. They are very good at diagnosing rare medical conditions such as yours. I honestly cant tell you exactly whats wrong but its very unique and needs to be taken to the next level for diagnosis

You may have acid reflux disease or a hernia. Your best bet hon is to see a Dr. and get checked out. Tell him all of your symptoms, make a list and take it with you. Best of luck. I know how uncomfortable acid reflux can be if this is what you have.

I would suggest that you have your primary care physician check out your gallbladder maybe even ask for an ultrasound of that area and rule out any possible existing gallstones.
