I have heard that cider vinegar can be used to help someone lose weight. Are there any other benefits? Does it actually work in helping someone lose weight? And how much would you need to consume a day, does it have to be warm water you need to drink with a desertspoon of cider vinegar?

If you perform a MEDLINE search, you will find that there's NO diet involving cider vinegar that results in substantial permanent weight loss.

You will also find that there's NO diet NOT involving cider vinegar that results in substantial permanent weight loss.

Something like 95% of the people who started a diet four years ago today weigh more now than when they started.

The only weight loss program that results in permanent weight loss is surgery. The average patient undergoing "bariatric" surgery is in her mid-30s and dies 17 years later, which is much earlier than she would have been expected to die. In fact, at age 65, a woman weighing 40 pounds OVER the "ideal" chart weight has the greatest life expectancy.

However, there's one type of surgery that reduces weight without resulting in a substantially shorter life: if you are careless with a chain saw, you can cut off an arm or leg, and that will do the trick, provided you're close enough to an emergency room when you do it that you don't die immediately.
