I have RLS it"s a terrible feeling in your legs when your trying to sit or when you lay down. my systems are heaviness in your legs, tingling, creepy crawling feeling. like you can't stop moving them. aspirin helps . I also will lay flat on my bed and stretch my legs. like say someone was standing at the foot of your bed and pulling your legs and feet towards them. stretch your body like you were being pulled apart. just your legs though. not the whole body. flex your feet downward while you are stretching do this several times and you should find that it really will give you some relief.
I hope that I have answered your question. and that you get relief.

Restless leg syndrome is a common cause of painful legs. The leg pain of restless leg syndrome typically eases with motion of the legs and becomes more noticeable at rest. Treatment of restless leg syndrome is first directed toward any underlying illness, if known. For example, a search for iron deficiency by blood testing to reveal underlying iron deficiency anemia. Reduction or elimination of caffeine and alcohol can be very helpful. Stopping smoking can also diminish symptoms. Getting better sleep and exercise can help some persons affected by restless legs.

Medications used to treat restless leg syndrome include carbidopa-levodopa, opioids (such as propoxyphene) or tramadol (Ultram) for intermittent symptoms, carbamazepine, clonazepam, diazepam, triazolam, temazepam, baclofen, bromocriptine, and clonidine. Also, recently, gabapentin (Neurontin) has been found helpful. The FDA has now approved ropinirole (Requip) for the treatment of restless leg syndrome. Other treatments that have been helpful for some patients include avoiding caffeine, warm/cold baths, electric nerve stimulation, oral magnesium, and acupuncture.

after reading the symptoms if you think you have this see a doctor of rheumatology. They will be able to diagnose you.

A home remedy that is surprisingly effective is to place a bar of soap under the sheets near you legs. For some unknown medical reason, this seems to work far more often than not.

if you can't go to sleep and you feel your legs are restless. If you get up at night and walk around because of it, then you probably have it.
