I work at a Carvel, and never use yogurt in a smoothie. I would not use milk. Use vanilla ice cream instead. Use juices (1/4 of cup), ice cream (1/5 cup), rest ice and water. Blend, and return back to cup, and should fit perfectly into your cup.

you could try evaporated milk the sweet kind works in viet namese coffee well too or coconut milk ... I'll blend in fresh fruit and ice and sugar to taste if needed (not all smoothies have yogurt )

You can use whatever you like. Try it, if you like it, make it that way. Cooking is very subjective, I can't remember the last time I followed a recipe exactly other than maybe the first time I made something so I could see how it tasted and how I could make it better or easier.
