from Del Amo shopping center, you have a couple of transit
option
you have Torrance #1 (note only during rush hour does this
bus operate into downtown LA other wise you would
have to transfer either at the Artesia transit center
or Harbor Freeway Green line station
to a Metro bus for downtown LAS
then we also got Torrance line 2 this bus will operate
to downtown apex every hours (its mostly local until
El Segundo blvd then freeway to LA
then last but not least
along Hawthorne Blvd we got Line 444 for direct service
into downtown LA
now from Galleria of south bay
Metro has an Hawthorne express bus it only operates
2 or 3 times a day,
there also the 740 rapid to downtown la as well

It is best to do it with a friend so you can take the car pool lane. I suggest you go north on Madrona, Crenshaw, or Western north to the 405 (San Diego) freeway. Take that east to the 110 (harbor) freeway. Any of the exits north of the interstate 10 would be a good exit to take.
