i have an hp dv6000 laptop with vista premium and for some reason after the welcome screen i get this black screen with my arrow there. it lasts for about 10 15 sec and then my desktop loads and comp is fine. but it didnt do that a couple times and it is now a lot. i dont have any start up programs on either. and this was after i restored my pc i took off start ups.
im thinking best buy might handle it. thanks

This is normal Windows boot process. A blank screen for some duration.
Depending on whether you made any changes to your system, Windows takes varying lengths of time to boot and thus the blank screen may be longer at times than others.
