Of course always tell the truth, honesty is always the best answer. What would happen if he/she found out the truth? Never good to lie about anything in a relationship no matter what it is

Depends how old you are & if you're planning on making this guy your last (marrying him) I was 28, had slept with 50 guys and told my (now) husband the truth & he accepted it. Many guys would probably think I was a slut & leave but he was just happy that he was the last (we're still happy together, 10 years on)
If you're worried about your number of encounters being high (say, over 20 if you are in your 20's) then I would say about 5 - 10. Better still, ask him first and make the number the same!If he's 'THE ONE' he won't care how many you've been with.

I often wonder what reason the guy has for asking such a question. It usually has something to do with either his insecurities or nosiness. If a guy really likes me I don't expect to hear the question ever. I have been asked before and I am honest. I don't go into any details, but I will say that the past is the past. I am with this person now and hopefully he will love me for who I am, not what I might have seemed.

No I would not tell the past is the past and it should not matter if you knew that number ,say 6 would be the one you'd have waited for your whole life to come along ,then would you have waited and I bet he wouldn't tell you in a million years the true and do you want images of you and who ever flashing around in his head for the rest of the days you are with him or vis-versa I think not.

My husband and I have an agreement that it is in the past and I don't want to know how many he has been with.
In the past I always make the number lower when Put on the spot to tell them a number.

If I'm actually dating him, I'll tell him the truth. For me, the number is not very high, so I dont think theres a problem with that. In any case, he sdnt have a problem with it, since its in the past.
If a rel. is sup. to work, then you need honesty, also with this topic, otherwise there's no point in being together.

I think it's safe to say that we only count the 'important' ones. Mainly because we don't remember how many of the other (casual) ones there have been, so it's impossible to answer honestly. In other words, the girls do the same thing the guys do.

I don't answer the question. It's rude to ask, and so I don't tell. It's really none of his business; whatever I did before him has nothing to do with him. As long as I'm not carrying a disease, it doesn't involve him. Even my fiance never asked.

I don't figure it's anyone's business, nor would I ask someone how many they've been with.
I quit counting mine years ago so I can honestly say I do not know...I do know I'm disease free, and that is what really matters.

Most always lie.
The ones that don't haven't slept with a lot of guy's, but there is no way of telling, unless she's all tore up like a loose porn star.
