I am planning to buy a 2004-2005 Nissan 350z base/enthusiast within a couple of months. However, I hear a lot of complaints regarding tire wear. Is this a common issue for all 2004-05 Nissan 350z? I am really into this car and hope to hear from Z owners as well as others. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2005 350Z Base and have had ZERO problems with the "tire feathering" or premature tire wear due to factory misalignment of the wheels.

The 2003 Models seem to have ALL had this problem, BUT it was corrected by Nissan for 2004 and 2005 and later models.

I'm very happy with the car - Great performance and handling and surprisingly, not bad on gas!

However, when my lease is up on my Base Coupe at the end of '08, I may look into a higher trim Roadster (Enthusiast or Performance), since those models offer Traction Control, something the Base Model DOESN'T!

Good Luck with your 350Z...It'll be a fun ride!!

The 350Z is a great car good choice! Just to let you know anyone that owns a sports car complains about tire wear just because how they are driven you do go through tires fast. Just a warning to you the 2004 is the 2nd year they made the Z and they were still working out some of the issues. No major complaints have been made about the car just buy it and enjoy it buddy.

Sports car you cannot rotate tires from front to rear. Handling and speed you have to give up rubber for traction and G force. Really tire wear is not an issue after the front end is correctly realigned. Throw a set of sway bars on that Z and find a road race track take a high performance driving school and you will complain about how much brake pad you wear out. It is the nature of the beast. Oh by the way it cost's 10,000 less than a 400 hp corvette
