I just pierced my ear. I think I hit a vein. Besides infection, will anything bad happen. Or is it normal for the ear to bleed when you pierce it?? I pierced the top part of my ear. I'm scared. Tell me I'm just over exaggerating.

If you personally pierced your ear, first of all that was a very bad idea. Lobes are one thing but cartilage is completely another. You need medical help IMMEDIATELY. Call a hospital, tell them what you're experiencing. Sometimes even a professional piercer can pierce cartilage in the wrong place and that can shatter all of the cartilage in your ear, resulting in a painful deformity. Seek medical help NOW.
If your parents won't even let you call a doctor, you need to call child protective services.
Cartilage does shatter, I've seen it happen.

If your ear is bleeding, that's not normal. Go and see either a doctor, or go and ask whoever pierced your ear. The bleeding may mean that there's an infection, that the person that pierced it messed up, or that the earring hit a vein.

ok you pierced your own ear.. for those previously answering people that cant read...

it bleeds alot.. i had mine done professionally and it bled for 2-3 hours and then again when i bumped it.. first off its normal.. and secondly .. you need to have it checked.. it'll be fine.. make sure to use a solution of warm water and sea-salt 1/4 cup water 1 teaspoon sea salt! it's important. will help heal and keep infection from happening.. dont twist the earring too much, for at least 2-3 days then after that twist it in the shower after its soaked.. make sure you wash your hands before touching the piercing ..

mattering where you pierced it.. it could take 5weeks to 3-4 months to heal completely..

and bone shatters .. not cartilage .. if can scar funny though..
